To whom it may concern,
I'm reaching out with a proposal that I hope you'll consider, not because I believe I'm entitled to special treatment, but because I think there's an opportunity to create a meaningful challenge for a longtime player who has reached a bit of a crossroads.
I've reached a point on the PvE realm where I've accomplished nearly everything I set out to do. My character is fully raid-geared, my professions are maxed, and I have more gold than I really need. At this point, my routine has become logging in to prepare for raid, attending raid, and logging off. The desire to play is still there, but the sense of progression and the excitement of having something meaningful to work toward have largely disappeared.
That's what drew me to Hardcore.
The idea of starting over, knowing that every decision matters and a single mistake could cost you everything, is exactly the kind of challenge I've been looking for. Reaching level 60 under those conditions would mean something far beyond simply leveling another character. It would give me a genuine reason to log in every day, push myself, and experience the game in an entirely new way.
However, there's one thing holding me back: my home is the PvE realm, and my main character is the character I've built my identity around in this game. I'd love to bring the recognition of that Hardcore accomplishment back to the place where I actually play, but I understand that the rules surrounding Hardcore characters and titles exist for a reason.
So I'd like to propose a compromise.
**Would you consider allowing a one-time, voluntary sacrifice of a level 60 Hardcore character in exchange for transferring only its Hardcore title to my existing PvE character of the same name?**
To be clear, I'm not asking to transfer the character itself, any gear, gold, items, achievements beyond the title, or any other benefits. I'm not asking for a server-wide announcement or special treatment beyond that single cosmetic recognition. I'd willingly surrender the entire Hardcore character and everything associated with it. The only thing I'd hope to retain would be the title, as proof of the accomplishment, on the character I've already invested so much time into.
I also understand the concern this might raise about the integrity of Hardcore. I wouldn't want to undermine the challenge or create a loophole that allows someone to benefit from Hardcore while bypassing its rules. The sacrifice would be permanent, and I'd be happy to abide by whatever conditions you felt were necessary to ensure the accomplishment remained legitimate.
I realize this may not be something the current system supports, and I appreciate that exceptions can create complications or set precedents. I'm not asking for a promise that this could become a standard feature. I'm simply asking whether a one-time arrangement, or some alternative that achieves the same goal, might be possible.
Ultimately, I'm looking for a reason to fall in love with this game all over again. Hardcore offers that reason. I'd just love the opportunity to bring the recognition of that achievement back to the realm I call home, without sacrificing the character I've spent so long building there.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider the idea. Regardless of the answer, I appreciate the work that goes into maintaining the game and creating new ways for players like me to enjoy it.
Sincerely,
A longtime player who wants another reason to log in tomorrow.
