Benzilla Octowow Client - Graphics and Lighting Engine

Hello,

I've bene playing with the Benzilla Octowow client on Octowow servers and it looks amazing!

I wanted to ask, is this safe to use? I want to make sure I won't get banned.

I really hope the Octowow team considers adding this to the game. It adds real shadows, sun rays etc... Makes the game super immersive.

This was the only thing putting me off playing initially because of the old graphics but it's amazing what better lighting and shadows do to the game!

Benzilla? My google doesn't know anything like that. Did you mean Benilla? I thought it's the vibe-coded client for 1.12 only. Does it really work on Octo WoW, too? Custom dungeons, challenges, high elves, goblins etc. Can you link it?

Apologies I meant Benilla.

Here is the working fork: https://codeberg.org/chairmanpow/benilla-octo

I've tested myself.

There is a bug where you cannot create a character with the client. So you first must make a character with the Octowow client.

Other than that, seems to be working quite well.

Interesting. I want to know Octo owner's response.

Such clients might be the future of private servers. AI is unstoppable and I don't think Octo can do something against it. I only hope such clients won't be used for exploits.

Just a heads up, Codeberg has a policy of no AI submissions and those sure are a *lot* of commits with a ton of SLoC in a very short amount of time.

If that was coded using AI, out of respect for Codeberg's policies, I would move that to Github or another instance that allows LLM content.
