Disappointing patch for PvP-ers

Unless PvP gear & weapons are planned at same time as BWL release, this patch is not sufficent
- PvPers expected epic gear & weapons at this time - the timeline was misleading. People thought it was a dev mistake, saying that gear wont drop, that they didnt realize how ambershire did it. Even r12 isnt added, not that it matters. Dev communication did not shine trough, and you also went against the playerbase desires, unreasonably, it has been established that the arguments for halting release werent convincing
- By the time the set is planned to drop we needed a new set. The game is in large part set around upgrades - remove upgrades from BWL and see how many players are left on the server.
- Blood Ring doesnt offer many/meaningful upgrades besides the ring for some classes (the caster version is weak - why does only the healer version have its original stats if im not mistaken, and the others are nerfed?)
- Hunter head has 16 stamina while the leather head has 37 stamina?? (the hit isnt relevant)
- A lot of players are honor capped/close - there is no incentive for them to do PvP anymore outside of rated arena which may not even pop a lot (also it has consumables which is absurd)
- BWL is 1 hour weekly. What exactly will keep players on the server and active

isn't anything that doesn't dissapoint the "PvP-ers"?
- Concrete upgrades (not losing stats here to gain some there)
- Consistent upgrades, every 2 months or so
- PvP content (world pvp island - increased nodes/chests, but open pvp (more relevant for pve realm))
- Rewards for Thorn Gorge
- Item crates for marks on level 60, available like on lower levels
- PvP events like gurubashi chest, incentive to raid cities, incentive to defend cities

You can't have infinite upgrades every 2 months, that's not how vanilla+ works. The game shouldn't be only about gear upgrades.
Vanilla WoW figured it out 20 years ago. Rank decay. That way if you want to keep your rank you'd need to PVP.

You can easily tho, in sense that it only takes a few minutes to add items. I agree, but that implies increasing gameplay difficulty to keep players interested that way, or some sort of addition. Rank decay is goofy, and it wasnt relevant if you kept rank after you reached it, at least on most vanilla servers.

It's not. It was there for a reason. PvP is the ultimate endgame and rank decay forced people to PvP if they wanted to keep their rank. Rank 14 was the ultimate display of prestige and achievemnt. Rank decay ensured the game is endless for you, you couldn't just reach R14 and forget about it, effectively "completing" the game.
It made the game infinitely playable without costant need for new gear upgrades.
Gear upgrades lose their value if they're introduced every 2 months with incremental upgrades. They also inflate destroy itemization. You will reach the point when PvP gear is 500% stronger than BWL gear like it was in TBC. This goes against Vanilla+ phislosophy.

it was a rhetorical question
you are completely "out of touch"

That is a bit ironic seeing that you just randomly commented without contributing anything to the conversation

A video game shouldnt be about ''forcing people to PvP''. No its not, its a display of a person dumping excessive hours in a horribly designed system that accounts for time spent more than actual gameplay. Nobody cares or should care about maintaining rank, thats not an interesting concept. Incremental upgrades every few months on level 60 are literally the game lol. You do not reach that point unless youre inflating the numbers

There's nothing interesting about incremental upgrades. Gear is only part of raiding, also each individual gear piece is unique in vanilla raids, with interesting equip and set bonuses. They are not "incremental upgrades".
No one is designing unique items for you in PvP every few months for an eternity. It will destroy whole itemization.
PvP is the literal endgame for the game. It was designed like that by the original design vision in Vanilla WoW. If you don't like that you can go find another game. Also you are not forced to PvP and maintain your rank .You can go fishing instead and let people who want the rank play the game.
