Needing on BoE...

Need rolling is supposed to be used when item will be equipped (not sold). Therefore, to prevent ninja-looting, do so needing a BoE item makes it soulbound.

How exactly will this prevent ninja-looting?

Selling on AH or trading it won't be possible if it's won on a Need-roll.

(EDIT: thus lowering reward/incentive/gain from ninjaing without intention of equipping)

I see, didn't think about that. But a little gold from selling gear to vendor is still more than no gold at all, so ninja looters don't really lose anything from this change. What's more, players who are somewhat unlucky will lose the ability to buy gear on AH

Do elaborate?

By "gear" I meant only loot, not crafted items. Someone might want to loot a specific BoE, but it doesn't even drop every time (keep in mind that in addition to the drop itself, they still need to win a roll for it). Having lost patience, they might buy it on AH. Making all BoE loot soulbound if needed (essentially making it BoP) will only hurt these players.

For proper greed rollers (i.e. no thieving ninja looters), it will not become soulbound.

I really don't think it's particularly hard to grasp. And I don't believe your logic makes sense.
