I see some reasons for recent removing repeatable quest Avenging the Fallen

I know that ppl who farmed this q made around 200gold for 8-10 hours stright grind (up to getting revered rep).

So it should be rather, maby, reducing a gold income a bit as reward (if u compare it to farming lashers, this hinterlands q looks like a waste of time) but not removing quest.

Revantusk Trolls offers decent starting blue items for fresh 60s.
Alliance equivalent for Revantusks is Wildhammer Clan.
Reputation for Wildhammer is grinded through Troll Tribal Neckles (widely dropped by hinterlands inhabitants)

It is very unfair that now there's no similar repeatable quest for opposite Horde's Revantusk Trolls.
And to be honest it's impossible to farm rep for me Trolls at all - we're left with 4 daily quests, and not every one can log each day to flew around the Azeroth to get 4x150 rep.
600 rep daily, it's a joke guys.

In current state, it reminds me of TBC Orgri'la faction...

Actually Silvermoon Remnant is a closer parallel to Revantusk Trolls, at least as far as gear is concerned. Like Revantusk, Silvermoon offers capes at Honoured, and blue 60 starter gear at revered. Less variety, but much easier to get started.
