I wanted to create a hc character, I had a name reserved, I deleted the toon to create a toon I actually wanted, and now it shows "name unavaliable" So unless someone took my name in 3 seconds or it's a bug help?

Did you get any help with this? Wondering since I am having the same issue.

I have a similar issue in the HC realm, which I hope a GM can help me with. I attempted to create characters whose names I know nobody uses. Names I've put much thought into in order to avoid the possibility of them being unavailable. However, there is always a chance of somebody eventually using one of those names, but when I found out that all of the names I used where taken, names of which were always available on servers that were grossly overpopulated, I figured that the odds of all that is infinitesimally small.

So, I logged into the game to see if those names were actually taken. I attempted to add as friends the players with those names, but they would't be added. Then I attemoted to add someone who was talking in the world chat to test if there was a bug when adding other players, but I was able to add them. Then, I figured to add another character that I create, which was offline, and I was able to add them. I did this to see if players who are offline can be added, and they could. So, it seems that the names I want are unavailable, yet no one is using them.

If any GM read this, please help me resolve this issue.

I am having the same issue. Sux, it's my favorite name I use and always for my main. All the other names I can delete and re-use.

I found the solution to my problem. I already had those names created in another realm. I was told that all realms share the same name pool. So, you might have to decide which realm you want to play the character with that particular name.

In my case, as soon as I deleted my character from N'Zoth, the name suddenly became available for me in C'Thun. Maybe you're experiencing the same issue.
