On Turtle TA retri paladins were like 20% - 25% of the alliance players on bgs.
Many things make them an easy pick:
- Easy gameplay mechanics
- Good damage burst
- A lot of saves
- Good long CC
- Ability to buff and heal themselves (they rarely use it on teammates)
Most of them did not do much for the team, played mostly solo even on bgs, and took the places of moe useful classes and specs.
It was not healthy for the pvp situation, and looking at current stats we can see that it may repeat on the new PVP server.
Something should be done about it.
