On april 30th we had a comment on the forum by a dev:

We are developing a character exporter though that you will be able to run through your account management page on our website in the future. This will allow you to export your OctoWow character and play with them locally, or upload them yourself to any server that accepts them!

Is it still on progress?
I think it would be a very good thing to hear to secure the future of the server, it would also bring people in who are still not willing to commit to a new private server after what happened in turtlewow.

This is still planned! We have been prioritizing restoration content and will continue to but once we are finished with the 1.18.1 restoration in a few weeks then we will get started on this and a few other exciting changes.
