The Status of Open World PVP on N'Zoth

I was taking a stroll through the Barrens today, culling the younglings that are flagged for PvP- as one may do. I ran into an new interesting feature that snuck into the last update.

A lowbie protection debuff! (It's roll out was admitted to be an accident it snuck in, and the system was bugged/broken, not showing properly unknownst before today)

If you kill multiple low-level characters you'll begin to stack a debuff that adds minutes on your Resurrection Timer should you die and go back to your body.

I was waiting with a 20 minute respawn timer on my body when guards killed me, and not an enemy player.

What does this mean?

There's a shift in state of mind of how 'PvP' interactions should be, on a PVE server, with a feature that perma flags you from 1-59 especially regarding the launch of the dedicated PvP Realm.

With player experience in mind, I propose a kind of no-nonsense system for this that I think it will be fair to all parties involved.

1. Level 1-50 Warmode Players do not get a debuff for killing multiple lowbies
* classic experience, circle of life.

2. level 51-60 should get a debuff for killing lowbies.
* this is cheese/griefing, youre approaching end-game content, acquiring prebis raid pieces etc powerscale can vary here dramatically.

3. A debuff should occur for killing the same player multiple times
* killing same player multiple times on pve server should be considered griefing

4. If a nonflagged PVE Andy chooses to engage a warmode player, they should remained flagged for a full 24hrs.
* warmode players know the possible intention of other warmode players, however PvE andys can conceal their intentions and cheese/grief while hiding behind cover of their flag.

This should technically be considered a grief due to abuse of game mechanics and Warmode players have 0 possible way of responding to a rogue who would gank you, then go hide till his flag is off, and gank you again.

(If theres a need to expand upon other topics such as at-level characters slugging it out constantly, and to eliminate open world win trading if its not in a BG you get no rewards for killing the same person 3x. Im sure with this format it will be easy to address other angles as they are presented))

That being said, all of this accomplishes the tasks of punishing players who are targeting people leveling and griefing them while still promoting this idea of 'warcraft' on a PVE server, while still remaining somewhat balanced on both ends.

There are only a certain number of flagged players in a zone, once you kill that same lowbie twice- apply the debuff.

Good wilt hunting,
