PvP Changes V1

Our first round of PvP changes are now in and live. As part of these we have introduced a new "Haunted by the Innocent" Debuff. If you kill a player that registers as a "Grey" level in open world PvP, you will acquire one stack of this debuff. The debuff does not expire until you die. It increases your death timer to 10 minutes on the first stack, increasing to 20 min, 30 min, and then 50% after that per stack up to a 24 hours death timer.
This is of course a work in progress and subject to change so we look forward to hearing feed back over the next several days on how it plays out in game on the Normal and PvP servers.

Hi! Thanks for a great launch and for introducing a mechanism against killing grey lvl players! This kind of mechanism is needed!
The problem with the mechanism as you described it is that the punishment is too steep if it is possible to accidentally kill a grey player or if the grey player actually attacks you. If I read correctly, city raid situations are exempted? Also, if you decide to stick with this kind of mechanism, it seems it would be cool if the debuff could be removed by getting the same amount of honorable kills.
Just some thoughts... looking forward to seeing what you will come up with!

what is supposed to be open world pvp?
Let's assume Horde is attacking Stormwind and a bunch of flagged low levels are standing at the gates among the 60's, defending
then what?

Ok, I will gather full raid of 1-5 levels and attack Durotar, provoking Horde players to kill these grey levels.
One of the most stupid decisions I saw on pvp realms.

Some would stop playing if they cannot grey kill anymore

Hey Kestrel!
Such mechanic completely kills big WPVP city raids.
When we raid Orgrimmar, we will kill every lowbie that is flagged for PVP and comes close, just cause we do aoe.
Such punishment with long res timers in fact makes all the fun stuff impossible.
Just let lowbies play without PVP always on, while maintaining XP bonus without punishing for killing grey names.
Do not kill WPVP for lvl 60 players just cause of some griefers!
The main reasons why we want to play PVP on this server are:
1. No layers
2. No flight
3. Decent PVP balance for the big fights
4. Decent PVP gear available
The 4 points above allow us to take part in this:

If we cannot do it, there is no reason to play.
On top of that, such mechanics allow enemy to come with lowbie into an aoe fight, die there and force enemy to take this debuff

Entire set of changes dedicated to protection from "corpse camp", "griefing" and "grey nuking" is incredibly superfluous serving no actual benefit. Removing point of frictions which exist solely to promote cooperation and collaboration is against entire point of social (I wish singlebox) community experience, where you like it or not, forced to interact with other players.
Its attempt in babysitting of crybabies who unable to speak up and interact with their own faction/guild members and ask for help.

Yeah, no. This creates much more problems than were already existing. Because griefing low levels requires a high level character, so some effort, and now you can literally grief people at level 1
