Towards the End

I know I'm going to get mad hate... but towards the end of Turtle wow it felt like there were way too many raids to cram into 1 week. MC/BWL/AQ40/Naxx/K40 then Timbermaw...
thoughts on doubling the loot and putting them on a 2 week lockout? I know it sounds crazy at first but raiding 4-5 nights a week is pretty terrible. Think about it. we were doing MC/BWL/AQ40 on night, Naxx one night, K40 another night and Timbermaw progression another night. We had all the raids well under an hour but still it's a lot. Now imagine you can do 2-3 raids one week, and another raid and progression the next and you don't miss any loot or lockouts... NICE!

you don't have to do every single boss of every single raid every single week.

If raiding 4-5 nights a week is pretty terrible, then why do you do it?

Raiding 4-5 nights a week is fine, finding time to farm consumes, playing with low level characters, playing alts and, and all the other stuff in the game while keeping your raid spot is terrible.. you know it, i know it, everybody knows it.

no you don't have to do every boss every week especially when you could do every boss every 2 weeks. think about it.

All these people not even thinking about the benefits of this change. I didn't miss a raid for 3 years straight on twow. I would love for all my guildies to join us on octowow but ask any guild that came over.. 80% of the players are too burnt out to even want to come play octowow, burn out is real. Even with this change if you want to raid 4-5 nights a week you can.. raid on 2 toons, or hell raid on 5, raid until you vomit all over your keyboard if you want. Just give people who want to still do every raid every lockout a option to not have to grind so many hours every week.

I'll elaborate for you. This is how this thread reads:
"I am playing the game in an unhealthy and self-destructive way which I struggle to balance with the rest of my life. Can the devs make it more convenient for me to pour all of my spare time into this game because it's getting difficult to manage?"
"Have you tried not doing that?"
"The real problem is I am spending my time with people who I'm sure do not value me as a person and see me as a statistic that fills a slot so they can also play the game in an unhealthy and self-destructive way and I know I will be rejected if I start living like a human instead of a raidbot."
"Wow that was even more revealing as to the nature of your illness."
"Really rude of you to point out how my perspective is the problem in this equation and I don't like how you find humour in my blindness to the problems I am causing myself by surrounding myself with what seems to be similarly self-destructive people who see me as immediately replaceable."
The problem isn't that there's too many raids, man. It's that you're treating it like a job. Maybe ask your guild if they're okay with you not being a robot and if they punish you for it then maybe you're right and they're just not the kind of people it's healthy for you to hang around with at this point in your life? We ain't 14 no more, brother, and
some of us are employed.

This is good feedback, take notes guys. Wanting to play the game and experience everything it offers is a illness now, I’ll be sure to ask my doctor about that.
The situation is simple:
• There are 5–6 relevant raids.
• They’re all on 1-week lockouts.
That combination creates a very clear incentive structure: if you want to raid you end up raiding a lot of nights. Not because you’re a raidbot or have no life, but because the design itself turns “doing the content” into a weekly checklist of multiple instances.
Suggesting “just don’t do all of them” is basically saying “just don’t play a big part of the game.” That’s not a real solution; it’s just accepting that the design has outpaced the lockout system.
The proposal (longer lockout + more loot) is just one possible way to decouple “experiencing the content” from “having to treat raiding like a second job.”
When the volume of relevant raids exceeds what a normal adult schedule can reasonably clear every week without feeling like work, the lockout timer becomes the problem, not the player’s attitude.
Some of us want to clear everything without becoming a robot. Some of us have jobs, families, and other hobbies and still want to see Naxx and Kara and Timbermaw instead of picking two and permanently missing out. That desire doesn’t make us ill. It makes us players who like the game’s content.
You can keep the hardcore option for people who want to full-clear every lockout. Just don’t make “full experience” require that level of commitment by default.
You’re right we’re not 14 that’s exactly why the game should stop acting like we still have that kind of free time. Sidenote I’m typing this from my place of employment, that’s why I’m on the forum and not in game.
