creatures keep their first corner, and characters never share files
- a creature walking a path no longer cuts its first corner: the path's first waypoint was dropped at decode (2342) - two characters whose names differ only in accented or non-Latin letters no longer share macros, bindings and SavedVariables; a file that failed to load is not overwritten at logout (2342) - custom chat channels survive a logout, a collapsed quest header keeps its quests watched, and a trackpad swipe scrolls as far as it adds up to (2342) - a hearth off a zeppelin no longer lands back on its deck, and an opened lockbox with loot left in it unlocks (2342) - every snapshot runs on Vulkan, in a container, before it ships (2344) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

a slider snaps to its step, a pushed button releases, and warnings show
- a slider with a value step snaps to it: a stepped drag fires once per row instead of once per pixel, a scrollbar cannot rest between two rows, and one wheel notch on the trainer list reaches the bottom (2133) - setting a step on a live slider moves its value onto the new lattice and runs its handler, which an addon on the real client can count on (2143) - a button pushed from script releases on the next mouse-up, so Tablet-2.0's rows stop staying pressed forever; a release off the button's rect un-presses it, and a locked state holds (2134) - the mail body and the GM ticket box scroll as you type past their bottom, and the Use UI Scale checkbox reads a registered setting (2141) - an engine warning, a call that was accepted and did nothing, reaches the /errors window in grey instead of one terminal line; a text row trimmed mid-character no longer kills the window's repaint (2135, 2138) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

a hundred stale claims retire, and text= was never a divergence
- a comment that justifies code by an engine difference is a claim with an expiry date, and the tree had ~96 expired ones across `assets/ui`, `ui_script/` and `benilla-ui` — a hygiene pass, no behaviour change: dangling `Benilla*` names with zero definitions (`BenillaMoney_*` at thirteen sites after 1937/1962 converged the coin cluster onto the stock `SmallMoneyFrameTemplate`; `BenillaGossipRow_Resize`, `BenillaErrorsFrame_AddMessage`, the digit feed 1285 deleted, `BenillaMerchantItem_OnClick` and three more), "the shipped `assets/ui/<X>.xml`" for thirty-odd files the directory no longer holds — it holds nine — each site now naming the chain file that actually loads, `UiPanels.xml` in the present tense after 1988 took the panel manager and the dialog engine stock, and expired self-deprecation: SimpleHTML "a widget kind we do not have" (1337 built it), "benilla has no console" (1948 bound `ConsoleExec`), `Model`'s "seven verbs not published yet" and "`ClearFog` is a guess" (all 23 are published, the carve sits 500 lines below, `UNBUILT` has been `[&str; 0]` since 2027), `frame_flag_gate`'s doc describing four groups of accepted mouse divergences over a `KNOWN` list that is empty (the empty array and its enforcement stay), five comments saying key delivery is not gated on `keyboard_enabled` where `script::keyboard`'s walk filters on exactly that field (1319), `SetRaidTarget` called a verb this house lacks beside an assert that its intent IS queued (1820), two questlog tests deferring to a screenshot for `GetPoint`/`IsVisible` the regions already answer, `benilla.toc`'s "trade still needs four engine verbs" (all four bound, 1966) and its ping `Model`s "this engine draws no pixels for" (2013 renders `MinimapPing.mdx` itself), and `rig_anim`'s `set_paused` naming a booth caller it does not have; and the code the prose was propping up goes with it: `GameMenuFrame.xml`'s six `<OnLoad>` label setters, because `text=` on a `<Button>` is a global-string lookup at the loader's attribute step (0995, built 61 seconds before the file was written) — the buttons carry `text="LOGOUT"`/`"EXIT_GAME"`/`"MACROS"`/`"RETURN_TO_GAME"`/`"MAIN_MENU"` as the reference's own do; `ScriptLogFrame`'s five authored close-button lines, now `inherits="UIPanelCloseButton"` off the chain's `UIPanelTemplates.xml` seated 757 lines above it (1846); and the editbox's 22-line "gap" doc claiming only the self-acquire `autoFocus` path is built and its `false` default unverified — path 1 is 1686's `visibility_focus`, and the default is `true`, byte-read off `flags = 1` at `0x779a29`/`0x779a2e`, so the test named `autofocus_does_not_focus_on_show…` is renamed for what it actually pins (2044) - the `text=` divergence never existed: `resolve_text`'s doc had claimed since 0068 that falling back to the raw attribute on a GlobalStrings miss was "one deliberate divergence" from a reference that draws the empty string, and read at the byte it is the reference's own behaviour — `FrameScript_GetText 0x703bf0` does return a pre-seeded empty string (`0x882748`) when the global is not a string, but that return never reaches a label, because all three `text=` readers image-wide test it and substitute the raw attribute: `Button::LoadXML` at `0x778c07` (`0x778c31 mov eax, esi`), `CSimpleFontString::LoadXML` at `0x771006` byte-identically, and `0x7292a6`, which pushes `edi` on the empty arm; so the loader changes nothing, the two test comments that had called `PetLevelText`'s "Level level race class" placeholder and `CLOSE` our divergence now name the reference's arm (a real 1.12 client draws them too), and what IS ours is the extra warning on a key-shaped miss (0983 → 0991), a strict addition; beside it, `GetEffectiveScale`'s root factor is 1 not because "benilla has no `uiScale` CVar" — 1804 registered one, default 0.9 — but because the dial is applied at the raster seam, `768/uiScale` UI units of virtual-screen height rather than a scale on `UIParent`, so every coordinate the VM hands Lua is already in those units and the reference's `GetCursorPosition()/GetEffectiveScale()` transcriptions convert correctly with a root of 1 (2044) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the inspect and talent windows are the reference's own
- the inspect and talent windows are the reference's own: `Blizzard_InspectUI` and `Blizzard_TalentUI` are LoadOnDemand addons whose real `.xml`/`.lua` live inside `patch.MPQ` — the loose `Interface\AddOns` folder holds only a `.pub` signature, which three notes in this tree had read as "packed, no source to migrate from", one wrong inference that kept five windows on hand-written transcriptions; 2300 lines of ours out, no engine work needed, and three things our talent transcription had quietly invented fell out (there was no level-10 gate, every tree scrolled where a shallow one does not, and a nil `TalentMicroButton` threw out of OnShow before the window painted) - a nil unit token RAISES in 53 of 83 bindings: wow-re censused the registrar table at `0x850438` — `UnitName(nil)` raises and `UnitIsVisible(nil)` is quiet, one line apart in stock files, so there is no rule to derive, the table is the rule; ours answered a default and our own test had pinned it; both token positions of the seven two-token predicates are gated, `GetRaidTargetIndex` too, and `UnitIsAFK`/`UnitIsDND` are confirmed not to exist in 5875 at all (zero occurrences under a positive control) — we invented them, and they stay deliberately ungated - `EditBox:SetNumber` did not exist (the only chain file calling it is `MoneyInputFrame.lua`, on the chain since the money kit): it is byte-identical to `SetText`, formats through `%.14g` in MSVC's CRT (`1e+020`, `1.#INF`), and `OnTextChanged` never fires from an edit — it fires from the dirty-word drain inside the box's own OnUpdate, coalesced to one per box per frame, where ours fired synchronously and `MoneyInputFrame_SetCopper` raised on it; `PanelTemplates_TabResize`'s `tab` argument is optional as the reference's is (stock macro tabs call it with `0`) - the skull or star on your CURRENT target never appeared or cleared until you re-targeted — `RAID_TARGET_UPDATE` was never fired, and stock `TargetFrame.lua` hangs its repaint off it; a raid-to-party conversion now empties the mark board as `0x4ba550` does; and the group-loot roll popups were already on the chain inside stock `LootFrame.xml` — our 546-line `GroupLootFrame.xml` had been shadowing all four of them Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

71 more key commands, and the quest windows wear the reference's names
- the binding registry goes 130 → 201 of the client's 228 live commands: a coverage gate makes registered ∪ recorded-absent exactly the 1.12 surface, each absence naming the Lua globals whose arrival refutes it — which is how 37 rows whose mechanism had already landed came home (the keyring, the pet book, the raid tab, the six action-bar pages, both vertical multibars) — and then four mechanisms bring 71 more: the five camera views with the reference's default table and its sixteen camera CVars read out of the binary (NextView/PrevView do NOT wrap), self-cast riding UseAction's third argument with autoSelfCast a real CVar at last, the friendly target cone / assist / last-hostile as one cycler with a side (the two sides use different deadness tests on purpose, and assist neither requires an assistable target nor swings), and REPLY2 — reply to the last person you told; the friendly cone also stops borrowing the enemy side's in-combat score bonus, which would have shoved a healer targeting you to the head of every cycle - the key names close their gaps: NUMPADEQUALS, F13-F24 and BUTTON6+ were keys the binding window listed and the file saved that the dispatcher could never press — named both ways now, with the namer and the codec structurally unable to disagree again; platform= becomes the OS gate it really is (off a Mac build the iTunes-remote category never even exists), and the Mac 1.12 slice settles that its F13 IS print-screen while F14/F15 map to UNKNOWN on purpose and stay unbindable; and the last-enemy stamp gains the four conjuncts it shipped without — you resolve, are not dead, not a ghost, not mounted, and the new target is alive-or-feigning — so TargetLastEnemy can no longer land somewhere the real client's never would - the quest windows wear the reference's names: ~40 of the quest window's globals were ours (the reference's name usually sitting in the comment beside them), its two six-item reward pools merge into the reference's single ten-item run with the update function ported line-for-line, the four panels and the quest log take REAL scroll frames (the thumb drags now), the gossip window gets its greeting panel, the two mail panes' inert painted-at-rest scrollbars become real ones, the Skills detail pane nests as the reference has it, and nine private constants take their real names; the one that broke a feature detect: our QuestLogCount — a name 1.12 doesn't publish — made pfUI conclude it was running on TBC and die in that branch - an EditBox is born with its constructor's five regions (the text, three selection quads and the caret), so GetRegions answers the reference's own count and authored regions start at index 6 — and a bare <NormalTexture/> now builds a live blank texture, since the element is what creates the region, not its file=; OpacityFrame lands, its first customer having arrived; and the equip / auto-equip / use bind confirms complete the soulbind arc — three different predicates with no quality leg (borrowing the loot arm's would have silenced the confirm on every white bind-on-equip item), Accept re-issuing the original action with the reference's suppress flag because 1.12 ships no confirm packet, and the soulstone use going through the same gate Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the chat dock exists, and alt-arrow keys are declined not swallowed
- the chat dock is a list, not a hardcoded pair: DOCKED_CHAT_FRAMES, SELECTED_DOCK_FRAME and the FCF verbs — DockFrame, UnDockFrame, DockUpdate, SelectDockFrame, SaveDock, SetTabPosition, Close and the button-side trio — are transcribed from FloatingChatFrame.lua, and every "for i = 1, 2" moved to what it meant, the dock or every window; the dock seeds at load from the window record's own docked byte handed to FCF_DockFrame, whose first line IS the reference's early return — transcribing the function that answers the way the reference answers, where an empty stub "because we have no dock" would have been the bandaid; its unconditional re-lock cannot clobber an unlock you saved, because the stored look is applied last; pfUI's RefreshChat now runs end to end - ignoreArrows is alt-arrow mode, and the arrow is DECLINED, not swallowed: the reference's edit-box handler returns unconsumed on an arrow key, so the walk carries it past the box and it runs TURNLEFT — the whole feature is steering while the chat box holds focus, where the old reading left the arrows dead; holding Alt resumes the caret; SetAltArrowKeyMode and its getter land with the reference's own quirk that a missing argument enables while nil disables (the getter answers 1 or nil, never a boolean), SetIgnoreArrows turns out not to exist in 1.12 and is unpublished, and the binding pass gets a named four-key exemption rather than a hole, because the handler consumes every other path - pfUI's square minimap is actually square: Minimap:SetMaskTexture makes the disc's mask state instead of a load-time constant — write-only from Lua, as shipped, no invented getter — where an empty path restores the round default and a failed load keeps the current mask and warns, because either mistake would otherwise hand a mistyped path a silently square map that looks like a feature; and MiniMapBattlefieldFrame grows the Border and Shine regions beside its icon, on the reference's own layers — icon on BACKGROUND, ring on ARTWORK above it, the only order a ring around an icon can draw in — which pfUI hides unguarded to sit the icon flush Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

edit boxes take focus the way 1.12 does, and the stable shows its pets
- the caret was a wedge in the line: it sat in flow, four units wide, so focusing a login box shoved its text right by one caret and a caret parked mid-word opened a gap; it is a zero-width seam now with the bar drawn as an overlay (a 0×26 seam and a 5×26 bar at the same x, off a node probe), the way the reference anchors its caret quad over the FontString; a blurred box collapses its selection so only the box holding the keyboard shows one; and a dialog answers only keys pressed while it was already on screen — ENTER on an empty form used to open the error dialog and close it in the same frame - `autoFocus` defaults ON in the reference (the ctor leaves flags = 1, and every one of the ten `autoFocus` attributes in the shipped chain is an opt-out), showing an autoFocus box focuses it after its `OnShow`, and hiding the focused box releases the keyboard — the "never focuses on show" note we had transcribed came from a `call`-only census that missed a tail `jmp`; the loader's flag loop could only ever turn a flag on, so `autoFocus="false"` was a no-op, fixed before the default flipped or it would have grabbed exactly the ten boxes the reference exempts; and the EditBox does fire generic `OnChar` with the spliced string, on every typed or pasted character and never on `SetText` - the stable master's portrait was a black disc (its session was missing from the `"npc"` token chain — the third window to ship that way, so the test is now exhaustive over every `impl NpcSession` and names the one you forgot) and its model pane draws the selected pet: a stabled pet is a database row with no world entity, so a `PortraitStandIn(display_id)` — an entity that exists only to be mirrored — feeds the existing booth code unchanged; plus the registrar's two service rows were hidden by an inherited attribute, a charter's tooltip carries the guild name and master on line 3, and the Help window drops three strings pointing at a company that stopped answering Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the interface labels announce their writes, and the idle tick goes quiet
- a text write names its own label, so the per-frame measure sweep drains a short ledger instead of hashing every font string twice — ~0.3 ms a frame at the Stormwind gates, gone - the idle interface tick stops re-writing settled state: buff durations and the weapon-enchant frame write only on change, and the fade and unit-popup drivers park until woken - the interface extract skips a hidden region before cloning its row, not after - WOW_UPLOAD_BUDGET=<MB> brackets the arrival burst's upload pacing — a lever for measuring world entry, not a fix yet Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

text justification becomes one law across every font table
- the justify verbs had been written three times and drifted three ways; one implementation now serves the region, font-object and message-frame tables, and a cleared axis paints centre, as the client's draw path really does - MessageFrame and ScrollingMessageFrame gain the ten-verb font block they were missing entirely, so font calls on message frames stop raising - EnableKeyboard and IsKeyboardEnabled land as real Frame methods — eight addons were dying on their absence - the harness's METHODS ranking states its own limits instead of reading as a build queue Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

a chat link is one token now, and tooltips print true costs
- a chat link edits as one atomic token: the caret can't land inside it, its colors survive, one keypress removes it whole - spell tooltips print the resolved mana cost through the reference's own table walk, and the "% of base mana" line dies - the spirit healer's confirm comes back after a cancel and wears its warning icon - the dressing room's pane is a live animating model, and a tried-on bow lands in the hand Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

an idle frame skips the quiet UI, and a lighting hunt closes clean
- The UI stopped paying to discover that nothing changed. Layout used to hash ~1,900 frames' worth of inputs every frame just to decide "quiet"; it now tracks a mutation epoch and answers with one integer compare, and a settled frame reuses last frame's rendered quads instead of re-rasterizing every glyph. ~0.9 ms off every idle frame — with a verify mode, forced on across all 489 UI tests, that re-runs every skipped resolve in full and asserts it would have produced identical results. - Across this run of snapshots, the one number everything is graded by: CPU work per frame at the crowded dungeon spot went from ~29 ms to ~16.5 ms. - A lighting question got the full treatment and an honest answer. Units briefly took a different day/night lighting law; it read wrong on screen the same evening, and a build-by-build hunt a full week back confirmed the world's look never regressed in the first place — the change is reverted, nothing about the look changes in this snapshot, and the question stays parked until the one remaining unknown in the reference client is pinned. - The character pane's model booth grew a headless eye — a dump of exactly what it draws, no live session needed — built for that hunt, kept for the next one. copy and paste works everywhere, and the sun keeps its colour
- One text-input law for every field. Login, character create and the delete dialog each improvised their own tiny keyboard handling — no caret movement, no selection, no clipboard, and Ctrl/Cmd+V typed a literal "v" into the password box. All of them now run the same byte-verified edit-box law as chat: clipboard, select-all, word moves, shift-selection, the real 0.5 s caret blink. The password box masks what you copy off it, like the original. - Copy/paste on Linux had two independent causes, one per direction: our window is Wayland but the clipboard backend spoke X11 only, and a copy relinquished the X11 selection the moment it returned (an X11 clipboard lives only as long as its owning connection). Both fixed — Wayland windows get a real Wayland clipboard, X11 keeps a held handle. AltGr is not Ctrl anymore either, so Polish and German layouts can type ą, ć and ź in chat instead of triggering select-all. Compile-checked on Linux; wants a real-session retest. - The exterior sun keeps its colour. A per-channel clamp saturated the warm continental sun to pale yellow-white on every sunlit fence, post and doodad; the clamp now happens once, at the sum, so the fiery orange survives — the reported Silverpine fence and Blackrock steps match the reference's own arithmetic. - A pool has a floor. Undercity's upper slime channels claimed the dry room a storey below them — 115 yards down still read as submerged. A pool now stops at its own room's floor; a sweep of every building in the shipped world found 51 such stacked sites across 6 buildings, all closed. - Ctrl/Cmd+Z hides the whole UI layer for clean screenshots, and instrumented debug runs open their window in the background instead of stealing focus. the micro menu, the ping meter, and the PvP flag
- The main menu bar's two empty recesses fill. The micro menu — the eight arched buttons: character, spellbook, talents, quest log, socials, world map, main menu, help — sits in the dark panel between the page arrows and the bags, transcribed from the reference's own layout: the character button wears your portrait, a button holds itself down while its panel is up, and the talent button appears at level 10. The latency meter fills the one slot the bar art leaves transparent for exactly it, tinted green/yellow/red on the reference's 300/600 ms thresholds and drawn UNDER the bar art, seen through its window, the way 1.12 actually does it. The socials and main-menu buttons find their panels one snapshot later; help still waits. - The UI explains itself on hover: 1.12 ships its detailed two-line tooltips ON — a FrameXML default, not the opt-in extra it is often remembered as — so the micro buttons, your own portrait, the XP bar, the five bag buttons and the ping meter all answer a hover with the reference's own explanations. - The PvP flag, end to end: crossed swords on the player, target and party frames, driven by the two descriptor bits the wire actually carries, and `/pvp` speaks — the yellow toast plus the system chat line, the OFF sentence being the one that warns the flag lingers for five minutes. It really does linger: turning it off waits out the server's timer, which looks like a bug and is the reference. - Quest markers stopped freezing. The grey `!` over a questgiver above your level goes gold the moment you ding, an NPC re-entering view is asked afresh instead of wearing a session-old answer, and the marker drops when the questgiver bit goes off — the re-ask triggers mirror the reference's own set, plus one named addition (your own level changing). - Water and heights: swimming downhill no longer bounces between swim and fall ten times a second — the surface line is a two-sided constraint, so the swimmer settles with the river instead of being left behind by it. And collision height is per-unit now, read from the unit's own model: a gnome used to swim with a third of a yard of water over her head because five depth lines were quoting a human's number. - A round of pixel honesty in text and chat: the newest chat line no longer wears a wider drop shadow than every line above it (shadows move in whole pixels now), keeps its descenders, and hover boxes stop painting over the chat body. The chat input's history browse survives programmatic edits, a failed script chunk warns instead of vanishing, and recall deepens to 64 lines. Idle animation got honest too: a model's idle is Stand resolved through its own lookup table — never file order, which had the duel flag bobbing on its spawn clip — and an armed idle is culled on the box its animation authors, not the bind pose, so the flag stops vanishing at most camera angles.
