Flag predicates answer 1 or nil, and the gate now sees them all (#904)
Fourteen bindings answered Lua `true`/`false` where 1.12.1 pushes the number 1 or nil: the loot slot, resurrect and distance predicates, the talent flags (`isExceptional` read 0, which is true, for every ordinary talent), the cursor predicates, and `GetLootRollItemInfo`'s bind flag, whose count also echoed the stack size where the reference answers 1. `GetRepairAllCost` returned two values with no vendor open, and `GetLootRollItemInfo` a sixth value. The reference pushes 1 or nil for each and returns exactly the values its catalogue row records. All of them now answer through `binding_abi::flag`, and `GetRepairAllCost` answers the one value 0 unless a repairing merchant is open. The boolean gate, which missed these, now probes every row whose kinds are nil or number whatever its name or arity confidence, over seeded talent and roll state. The widened gate fails on the parent for all fourteen. Fixes #159 Fixes #900 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

unit getters: chained tokens like raid3target answer their unit (#716)
The `Unit*` getters and `SpellCanTargetUnit` answered nil for chained tokens like `raid3target` or `party1target`, so a raid-assist addon's main-tank frame stayed empty.
Every getter and `SpellCanTargetUnit` resolves its token through `0x515970` and then reads the guid's object (`0x468460`); see `UnitHealth 0x517511`/`0x51752d` and `SpellCanTargetUnit 0x6e6d3a`.
A token with target hops now resolves to a guid in the VM and reads a per-guid snapshot. A new feed pushes one for each held unit a chain ends on. `SpellCanTargetUnit` keeps its verdicts by guid. The three target, target-of-target and NPC snapshot builders are folded into one.
Tests: `UnitName`/`UnitHealth("raid3target")` and `UnitExists("pettarget")` answer the chained unit, `SpellCanTargetUnit("party1target")` answers its verdict, and plain tokens are unchanged.

The VM speaks 1.12 alone: the Era globals and the uncalled hooks are gone, the engine's tooltip seams are Rust calls, strata/draw-layer/state-texture/sound/OnClick/quest-item/pickup take their 1.12 shapes, and the surface gate covers the production load (#573)
The Lua VM keeps no surface the 1.12.1 client lacks. - **Removed:** the nine Era-only globals: `UnitAura`, `CancelUnitBuff`, `GetCursorInfo`, `GetInventoryItemID`, `GetPlayerFacing`, `GetTradePartnerName`, `IsGossipOptionCoded`, `UnitIsAFK`, `UnitIsDND`. - **Hooks off Lua:** `GameTooltip:BenillaSetItemById` and `:BenillaGetTooltipOwner` are replaced by Rust-side calls. The uncalled `Benilla*` hooks are deleted. - **Frame strata:** `SetFrameStrata` knows the reference's eight strata and raises its message for any other (`0x774450`). - **`SetDrawLayer`** reads the layer name alone (`0x79a780`). - **`Set<State>Texture`** reads a number as a path (`0x781b23`); there is no colour form. - **`PlaySound`** names a kit and returns nothing (`0x4586d0`). `PlaySoundFile` returns one value (`0x458780`); benilla answers 1, a recorded deviation, since it plays after the call. - **`OnClick`** sets only `arg1` (`0x779540`). - **Quest getters:** `GetQuestItemInfo` and the quest-log reward and choice getters answer the reference's five values and its miss behaviour (`0x501f80`, `0x4e0b00`, `0x4e0cf0`). - **`PickupContainerItem`** returns nothing (`0x4f9b30`). - **Surface gates:** the bare VM's globals and every widget class's methods are held to `reference/1.12-globals.tsv` with one commented allowlist. A new gate on the full production load (core plus layer) allows beyond that only the layer's `Benilla`-prefixed globals. Verified: - A test per removal and per corrected form; a scripted undo of each fails its test. - Each gate fails on a re-added name. - `scripts/gates.sh` and `scripts/smoke.sh` are green. - A live run showed the same warnings and 0 script errors before and after. - In the 219-addon corpus, AckisRecipeList's bundled AceGUI-3.0 and Roid-Macros' Grid extension now behave as they do on 1.12.1. Built on macOS; no platform seam touched. Fixes #171 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

A friendly or resurrection spell with no usable target brings up the targeting cursor, and autoSelfCast boots at 1.12.1's 0 (#445)
A friendly or resurrection spell that binds nothing now enters the unit targeting cursor, as `TryCast` does for any residual word without the enemy bit (`0x6e507b`–`0x6e50ab`). `autoSelfCast` boots at its reference default of `"0"`, and its `Deviates` row is gone. - **Binding.** The cursor binds a unit through a world click, and through `SpellTargetUnit` from the unit frames (`BindTarget 0x6e5b40`). The selection never moves. - **Relation checks.** Heals and buffs ask `CanAssist 0x6066f0` instead of reaction alone, so a friendly NPC without the PvP flag is no longer assistable. That is part of #50. - **Range.** `SpellCanTargetUnit` and the cursor answer per unit through `0x6e6460`'s unit leg, including the spell's min/max range (`6e677c`–`6e6802`). A click on a unit out of range raises "Out of range." or "Target too close" and keeps the cursor armed. The reference's abort there also strands the cursor, and that is not copied. - **Your own model** joins the world pick only for a word `0x6e61a0` admits (`0x850e`, no `AttributesEx 0x80000`), and never in first person. Comments in benilla-ui: one line of fact each, no history, no record numbers (#143)
Part of #41: the comments of `benilla-ui` (the Lua UI engine, its FrameXML loader and its widgets) are rewritten to the rule in `docs/METHOD.md`, which is what the code does and the reference fact behind it, in a line. 43,140 comment lines become 15,161. - **The mechanical strip.** The citations that were only a private record number go first, and each edit is shown to be a pure removal. - **Wrong facts corrected.** The rewrite corrects the comments that stated wrong facts. Among them: - `0x64a480` is the case-sensitive compare (a byte `repz cmpsb`), and `0x64a4c0` the case-insensitive one. - A frame's id sits at `+0xb0`, not `+0xb4`. `EnableKeyboard`/`IsKeyboardEnabled` are `0x776ec0`/`0x776f90`. - A region's unpinned edge has no fallback to its owner's rect: the owner supplies only the scale. - `$parent` expands to the nearest named ancestor, or "Top" when none is named (`0x76c5b0`), not simply to the parent. - A StatusBar fills from its internal normalised fraction, not from `GetValue()`. - The addresses of `StartDuel` and `StartDuelUnit` were swapped. - Many "untraced" notes now give the traced reference fact: the drag threshold, the per-grip sizing edges, the empty-`autoFocus` skip, and `SetTexCoordModifiesRect`'s default. - Stock FrameXML line citations are checked against the stock 1.12 files and corrected. `ref-` file names become the stock file names. - **Deviation labels.** "Deviation:" now marks only a choice with a reason. A surface that exists only for the retired Era addon target says so plainly: it is not 1.12. - **Verification.** Every file strips to identical code, and `cargo fmt --check` is clean. Nine second readers compared every file old against new, restored the facts the rewrite had dropped, and checked each new citation against the code, the stock files, vmangos and the reference. Behaviour differences the rewrite surfaced are filed as their own issues (#131–#142), and more are being validated. The comments here state what the code does. String literals are untouched; they are #92. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

comments cite the reference by address, not by private note (#30)
Comments that pointed into the maintainer's private reverse-engineering notes (a note by name, a path, a section or finding id, the analysis's own name for a client function, a process word) now carry the fact itself, cited by the reference client's address, by vmangos file and line, or as "the reference". Nobody outside could follow those pointers. Comment text only, plus the test-assert and log strings that carried the same pointers. No claim changes: a comment the notes have since corrected keeps its wording here, and correcting it is separate work. The two reference generators, `scripts/gen-reference-globals.py` and `scripts/gen-reference-verb-events.py`, named the private notes' layout to find their inputs. They now take the input files as arguments (`--capture`, `--framexml`, `--names`, `--extents`, `--disasm`). Run on the same inputs, both write the committed tables row for row; only the two header lines that named the old environment variable change. Checked per file: - the code is identical: each file with its comments stripped compares equal before and after; a changed string literal is compared under a mask that proves only literal text moved and every literal kept its line count; - no client address the old text cited was dropped; - a second reviewer checked every added address against its derivation; - a detector for the notes' names, paths, ids, function names and process words finds none left; - `scripts/gates.sh` is green. creatures keep their first corner, and characters never share files
- a creature walking a path no longer cuts its first corner: the path's first waypoint was dropped at decode (2342) - two characters whose names differ only in accented or non-Latin letters no longer share macros, bindings and SavedVariables; a file that failed to load is not overwritten at logout (2342) - custom chat channels survive a logout, a collapsed quest header keeps its quests watched, and a trackpad swipe scrolls as far as it adds up to (2342) - a hearth off a zeppelin no longer lands back on its deck, and an opened lockbox with loot left in it unlocks (2342) - every snapshot runs on Vulkan, in a container, before it ships (2344) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

afk and dnd work, the stun swirl shows, and the world drop is back
- /afk and /dnd send instead of printing Unknown chat type: the flag sets, <AFK> shows over your head at once, the four echo lines are the client's own, and moving clears AFK under the real autoClearAFK CVar (2082, 2088) - the stun swirl and the other state-kit visuals show — a cache the login map change cleared lost them nine runs in ten — and a state kit's animation id is the base recompute the reference runs, never a play, so the stray Stun one-shot is gone (2085) - dropping an item on the world brings up the destroy prompt again: since the stock WorldFrame landed, the world is a frame, and the drop's gate had been written for the absence of one (2089, B380) - the mouse no longer snaps to the window's centre when the loading cover drops on /logout; the cover hands the pointer back only where it knows it is (2090) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

a hundred stale claims retire, and text= was never a divergence
- a comment that justifies code by an engine difference is a claim with an expiry date, and the tree had ~96 expired ones across `assets/ui`, `ui_script/` and `benilla-ui` — a hygiene pass, no behaviour change: dangling `Benilla*` names with zero definitions (`BenillaMoney_*` at thirteen sites after 1937/1962 converged the coin cluster onto the stock `SmallMoneyFrameTemplate`; `BenillaGossipRow_Resize`, `BenillaErrorsFrame_AddMessage`, the digit feed 1285 deleted, `BenillaMerchantItem_OnClick` and three more), "the shipped `assets/ui/<X>.xml`" for thirty-odd files the directory no longer holds — it holds nine — each site now naming the chain file that actually loads, `UiPanels.xml` in the present tense after 1988 took the panel manager and the dialog engine stock, and expired self-deprecation: SimpleHTML "a widget kind we do not have" (1337 built it), "benilla has no console" (1948 bound `ConsoleExec`), `Model`'s "seven verbs not published yet" and "`ClearFog` is a guess" (all 23 are published, the carve sits 500 lines below, `UNBUILT` has been `[&str; 0]` since 2027), `frame_flag_gate`'s doc describing four groups of accepted mouse divergences over a `KNOWN` list that is empty (the empty array and its enforcement stay), five comments saying key delivery is not gated on `keyboard_enabled` where `script::keyboard`'s walk filters on exactly that field (1319), `SetRaidTarget` called a verb this house lacks beside an assert that its intent IS queued (1820), two questlog tests deferring to a screenshot for `GetPoint`/`IsVisible` the regions already answer, `benilla.toc`'s "trade still needs four engine verbs" (all four bound, 1966) and its ping `Model`s "this engine draws no pixels for" (2013 renders `MinimapPing.mdx` itself), and `rig_anim`'s `set_paused` naming a booth caller it does not have; and the code the prose was propping up goes with it: `GameMenuFrame.xml`'s six `<OnLoad>` label setters, because `text=` on a `<Button>` is a global-string lookup at the loader's attribute step (0995, built 61 seconds before the file was written) — the buttons carry `text="LOGOUT"`/`"EXIT_GAME"`/`"MACROS"`/`"RETURN_TO_GAME"`/`"MAIN_MENU"` as the reference's own do; `ScriptLogFrame`'s five authored close-button lines, now `inherits="UIPanelCloseButton"` off the chain's `UIPanelTemplates.xml` seated 757 lines above it (1846); and the editbox's 22-line "gap" doc claiming only the self-acquire `autoFocus` path is built and its `false` default unverified — path 1 is 1686's `visibility_focus`, and the default is `true`, byte-read off `flags = 1` at `0x779a29`/`0x779a2e`, so the test named `autofocus_does_not_focus_on_show…` is renamed for what it actually pins (2044) - the `text=` divergence never existed: `resolve_text`'s doc had claimed since 0068 that falling back to the raw attribute on a GlobalStrings miss was "one deliberate divergence" from a reference that draws the empty string, and read at the byte it is the reference's own behaviour — `FrameScript_GetText 0x703bf0` does return a pre-seeded empty string (`0x882748`) when the global is not a string, but that return never reaches a label, because all three `text=` readers image-wide test it and substitute the raw attribute: `Button::LoadXML` at `0x778c07` (`0x778c31 mov eax, esi`), `CSimpleFontString::LoadXML` at `0x771006` byte-identically, and `0x7292a6`, which pushes `edi` on the empty arm; so the loader changes nothing, the two test comments that had called `PetLevelText`'s "Level level race class" placeholder and `CLOSE` our divergence now name the reference's arm (a real 1.12 client draws them too), and what IS ours is the extra warning on a key-shaped miss (0983 → 0991), a strict addition; beside it, `GetEffectiveScale`'s root factor is 1 not because "benilla has no `uiScale` CVar" — 1804 registered one, default 0.9 — but because the dial is applied at the raster seam, `768/uiScale` UI units of virtual-screen height rather than a scale on `UIParent`, so every coordinate the VM hands Lua is already in those units and the reference's `GetCursorPosition()/GetEffectiveScale()` transcriptions convert correctly with a root of 1 (2044) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

coins ride the cursor, and the trade window and combat text go stock
- coins ride the cursor: `MoneyFrame.lua`/`.xml` load off the player's chain, and the stock kit reads the cursor's coins at load, so the money cursor — payload mode 2, the copper at `[0xb4e2f0]` — is the engine's: `PickupPlayerMoney` puts coins on the cursor and the purse is never debited, and `CoinPickupFrame.xml`, the shift-click coin dialog nothing of ours had ever answered, joins; wow-re's round then set the law: the pickup raises on a non-number and refuses silently on zero, lost control and more than the purse; `AddTradeMoney` folds the coins into the offer as an absolute `CMSG_SET_TRADE_GOLD` gated on the purse; the send-mail setters and `GetCoinIcon` answer as the bytes do; the coinage-change reflex trims an offer the purse no longer covers; and the four send-mail pickup/drop verbs the stock table names do not exist in 5875, so they are not built (1962, 1965) - the trade window is the reference's own file: `TradeFrame.xml` + `TradeFrame.lua` off the chain, ours deleted; `GameTooltip:SetTradePlayerItem`/`SetTradeTargetItem` (`0x5341e0`/`0x534410`) render the slot's item the way the loot slot's is, and `TRADE_PLAYER_ITEM_CHANGED`/`TRADE_TARGET_ITEM_CHANGED` — which the stock file repaints one slot on, and nothing had fired — fire per changed slot beside `TRADE_UPDATE`; the stock file brings the chain's own `MoneyInputFrame`, a TARGET_TRADE `SmallMoneyFrame`, `ItemButtonTemplate` slots and the enchant slot's own wording — "Item not yet modified" where ours had read "Will Not Be Traded"; the wire's enchant id is not carried into the slot yet, so the tooltip shows the item without its enchant (1966) - the dialogs' verbs, as the bytes define them: nine of the ten stock `StaticPopup.lua` bindings 1960 had left named are built off wow-re's round with their packets, events and UIParent arms — the bare trade pair, `ForceLogout`, the instance-boot timer (whole seconds), the area spirit healer's accept/cancel/time, `AcceptBattlefieldPort` out of a three-slot queue `SMSG_BATTLEFIELD_STATUS` fills, `CancelMeetingStoneRequest`, and the pet trainer's pair as the talent wipe's twin, latch for latch — `SMSG_PET_UNLEARN_CONFIRM` latches and asks, `ConfirmPetUnlearn` sends behind the money gate, `CheckPetUntrainerDist` reads the leash; not built, named: the healer's proximity scan (`0x4923b0`: 20 yd to acquire, 22 to retain), so no healer is cached yet, and `ReplaceTradeEnchant`, which rides trade-slot enchant targeting this engine does not build (1963) - the scrolling combat text is the reference's own `Blizzard_CombatText`, LoadOnDemand off the chain: our transcription is deleted, and the addon loads through `UIParentLoadAddOn` at the reference's own sites; the family's fourteen defaults move to the options file where the reference keeps them, because a LoadOnDemand addon cannot define the options that decide whether it loads (1964); and the Looking-for-Group pair is what the bytes define, correcting 1959's flag: `SetLookingForGroup` takes three (type, entry) pairs and a comment, packs each slot as `(type << 24) & entry` — an AND (`0x4e9713`), so every admissible input stores zero — and sends `CMSG_SET_LOOKING_FOR_GROUP` only when the commit changed something; `GetLookingForGroup` answers three nilable slot names then the comment, never 1|nil; and the stock 1.12.1 UI never calls either — both call sites sit in an XML comment (1961) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the action bars are the reference's own, and a gift can be wrapped
- the action-bar cluster is the reference's own: `MainMenuBar.xml`, `ActionBarFrame.xml`, `MultiActionBars.xml` and `BonusActionBarFrame.xml` run off the player's own chain, and our `ActionBar.xml` (2047 lines), `MultiBars.xml` and `StanceBar.xml` are deleted — three, since the stock bonus-bar file declares the shapeshift bar too; one engine verb, `ChangeActionBarPage`, fires `ACTIONBAR_PAGE_CHANGED` and nothing else; one load blocker: stock `MultiActionBars.lua` writes the options window's table from its OnLoad, the reference's own load-order hack, so our options window moves to the reference's toc slot; and ten things the reference does that ours did not: an empty button is HIDDEN while showgrid is 0, the bonus overlay sits one pixel right of the main buttons, every slide takes one frame more than its time, and `ActionButton_ShowGrid` ghosts EVERY ring, occupied included (1938) - a gift can be wrapped: right-clicking wrapping paper fell through to plain use and sent `CMSG_USE_ITEM`, so nothing happened — you could receive a gift and never give one; the wrap is a displayed-cursor MODE plus a stashed slot, never a payload, so `CursorHasItem()` stays false and every stock gate on it stays shut: right-click arms it, a left-click on a bag slot sends `CMSG_WRAP_ITEM`, and the client applies no eligibility test — the server's `ERR_CANT_WRAP_*` reasons are the error line (1934); a duration-limited item counts down: `SMSG_ITEM_TIME_UPDATE` parks a deadline and the tooltip's `ITEM_DURATION` line runs the enchant countdown's bucket ladder, so "Duration: 1 days" is what the reference renders; an update for an item we do not hold is DROPPED, no queue (1933); and a renamed crowd-control refusal names its mechanic — "Can't do that while stunned" — off `SpellMechanic.dbc` (1943) - a creature paths on a boat: `SMSG_MONSTER_MOVE_TRANSPORT` carries the transport's guid and deck-local coordinates, and is the attach/detach edge; a deck sample lands on the rider or nowhere, never as a world write a few yards from the map origin; and "there is no terrain under a boat" turned out wrong: the ground probe admits GameObject meshes — a boat's `.wmo` is a GameObject, so the probe hits the deck (1936); `MSG_MOVE_TIME_SKIPPED` is read, not dropped — the reference adds the lag to the observed unit's last-wire stamp, so dropping it scheduled their next packet `lag` ms late, a hitch for every player who stalled zoning in near us; and our own settle hold reports once (1935); and the tradeskill tool order was backwards — focus FIRST, so every two-tool recipe had read "Blacksmith Hammer, Anvil" for the reference's "Anvil, Blacksmith Hammer"; the focus's `hasTool` is 1.0 in the reference too (1942) - the crowd's second sitting, instruments first: the probe line carries the tail — cpu p95/p99 and the six worst frames — because a mean under budget hides the one frame in twenty over it (raid legs railed at 16.67 with p95 at 18–20 ms) and whether that frame was work or a wait is the first question about a stutter, and the visible meshes are counted by lane; then two cuts — a terrain tile furnishes as 4×4 cells of 4×4 chunks, one mesh, one entity, one draw per 133-yd cell instead of per 33-yd chunk (a city horizon is over a thousand chunks a frame, and a cell changes nothing a pixel can see; Stormwind 10.55 → 10.32 `cpu_ms`), and an authored point light is our own `WorldPointLight`, not Bevy's `PointLight`, which was only a data carrier while Bevy ran its whole light lane over every lamp, ~2 % of the alone frame; the sitting's record is 1945, and the code says so (1945) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

an item on the cursor is a sale, and an animation's sound has a place
- right-clicking a vendor with an item on the cursor sells it: `0x5df5d0` asks `GetCursorItem` before anything else and a non-zero answer takes the arm to `CMSG_SELL_ITEM` instead of `CMSG_LIST_INVENTORY`, where benilla sent the list unconditionally — the whole stack, to the clicked vendor, with no merchant-window gate anywhere in the arm; the clear is `SetCursorItem(0, …)` rather than `ClearCursor`, which fires `CURSOR_UPDATE` and leaves the source slot greyed until the server's inventory update (1914); and the NPC you are talking to is not clickable: `0x5f0130` refuses a right-click on the NPC whose window is already open, against a global with exactly two writers — the interaction setter, whose fourteen callers are every one a window opener, and its clear — so the first click always gets through and no double-click is eaten, where benilla re-sent the arm's opcode on every click (1866) - a Hated or Hostile questgiver's `!` now disappears, every `!` blinks off and back on when you resurrect, and the minimap no longer dots a corpse, your own pet or an untrackable unit: the sweep tears down on HOSTILITY, not on the flag — `0x5eb134` is a convergent block reached from two branches, so three incompatible readings had each seen one path — and an escort giver's `!` clearing with its flag is the field watch instead, which B257 now rests on; the dots gain `0x4eaa90`'s three preconditions (1906); the quest log's rebuild is all-or-nothing — the reference makes every rebuild a no-op until its template misses are answered, so a cold log shows empty and then lands in one step, never our `"..."` row per in-flight quest — sorted level then title, case-insensitively, with the `id == 0` group first under the reference's own "Missing header! (quest designers)"; and `GetQuestLogTitle`'s `isHeader`/`isCollapsed` answer 1/nil, not booleans - an animation event has a place, not just a time: the M2 event kernel (`0x719370`) places each fired key through its bone, and benilla carried the when and the what and never the where, so every animation-event sound played at the model root — 149 of 244 `$DSL` records sit off their model's origin, out to 67.6 yd on `Maraudon_Waterfall01.m2` — and the point belongs to the record, not the tag, since 75 models author one tag twice; doodad, GameObject and shake sounds now sound where the key is (1904); and the unit dispatcher's arms do not agree about the point they are handed — footsteps and emotes at the event point (the footstep's material foley stays at the origin), `$TRD` at the origin, `$CSD` at attachment 17 rather than its head-mounted records, `$CSS` at the event point on a hit and attachment 1 on a miss — with `0x623b90`'s attachment-else-bias resolver transcribed table and all (1915) - `GetSkillLineInfo` out of range answers the reference's thirteen-value tuple, numbers in the rank slots, not a single nil — the stock skill window adds two of those slots unguarded straight off `SetSelectedSkill(0)`, so one nil raises the moment it drives us; one shape serves every out-of-range case because the bounds test at `0x4d3675` is a single unsigned compare, and our source had asserted the opposite (1919); the outbound wire is traced by name (`out`, mirroring `in`), a line pushed only after a successful write — a 5-second visit to the Goldshire poster reads as 87 lines (1901); the binding shape gate seats a player and checks the `Unit*` verbs it had been skipping, coverage 220 → 249, all agreeing with the reference (1911); and a UI capture scenario opts the UI in itself instead of photographing a UI-less world and exiting 0, the opt-in answering `false` in a player build that has no harness Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

- `UnitHasRelicSlot` is real in 1.12 and benilla had no binding for it: `0x519e50` reads `ChrClasses.dbc` field 16 — set for Paladin, Shaman and Druid in `patch.MPQ`'s 17-column copy (the base `dbc.MPQ` copy has 16 columns and no such field, which is how the "always false in vanilla" belief survived twice in decisions and seven times in code) — and stock `PaperDollFrame.lua` calls it unconditionally, so the character sheet would have raised for EVERY class; a druid, paladin or shaman's sheet now hides the ammo slot, shows the relic plate where the bow was, tooltips "Relic", and reports ranged Attack/Damage/Power as N/A, all four branches transcribed from the reference - the loot window is the reference's own `LootFrame.xml`: `LootButton` is built as a real widget type rather than aliased (a Button plus one slot dword and one overridden OnClick — right-click loots exactly like left, no shift/ctrl/alt takes, a row whose Lua handler errored still loots, a fast double-click takes two slots), `LOOT_SLOT_CLEARED` fires per row again because the stock file hangs hide-in-place AND the emptied-page auto-advance off it, `EditBox:Insert(nil)` is a no-op as `lua_tostring` makes it, and an alias `GameTooltip.xml` had quietly become a reader of would have turned every item tooltip white, silently, had it just gone nil - the vendor cursor: `PickupMerchantItem` is two verbs behind one name, decided by what the cursor holds and never by the caller — a held bag item SELLS (index ignored, no merchant-open gate), otherwise the vendor row is grabbed as cursor mode 5, which is invisible to `CursorHasItem` (modes 1 and 9 only) so all thirteen stock gates stay closed while it is held; the drop is the buy, `CMSG_BUY_ITEM_IN_SLOT`, count 1, into a bag or an equipment slot, and every refusal is silent and clears the cursor; the four `Model_*` rotation handlers land in UIParent where the reference keeps them - the gap report reads `:Method(` sites now — it found `SetMerchantCompareItem`, which would have raised on the first vendor-row hover with every check green, and `LootButton:SetSlot`, and 28 "free" windows became 25; the shared coin kit moved out of the merchant window into `MoneyFrame.xml` so the eight windows that draw coins through it can reach it without loading a vendor Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the bank is the reference's own window, and far sight freezes your body
- the bank window is the reference's own `BankFrame.xml` run off the player's chain — our 890-line copy is deleted whole; putting bags into the bank's bag slots works (the two verbs its buttons are wired to now exist), the purse is a real `SmallMoneyFrameTemplate` splitting 987654321 copper into three coin buttons instead of one string, `BANKFRAME_OPENED` loses the argument the real client never fires, and the bank stops auto-opening your bags while the vendor and mailbox keep doing it; the empty-slot click still plays the bag sound, because the reference's own line plays it on every click the cursor did not consume — named as faithful rather than quietly fixed - underneath it, the bank's inventory band is a VIEW over the container feed, not a second copy — inventory ids 40..69 had answered nil because the doll array stops at 24, so the stock file swapped in would have drawn an empty bank; the six bank bag slots become real inventory slots (64..=69) fed off the player descriptor, the three bag verbs are carved from the binary (`PutItemInBackpack` IS `PutItemInBag(0xFF)` through a ten-byte thunk, the occupied-by-an-ordinary-item leg auto-stores with no destination slot at all, and the return is the Lua number 1 or nil — the nil being the whole reason a plain left-click opens a bag), and the swap caught `BankButtonIDToInvSlotID`'s bag arm six slots wrong: it took a bag number 1..6 where the reference passes the button's own id, which is the container id - far sight freezes your own body while the view is out — the fifth conjunct of the movement predicates' shared precondition, joining the health term so the walk, the turn and the follow teardown go down together; both halves are load-bearing: the `IsActivePlayer` half is what keeps a Mind Control victim walking (possession rides the same PLAYER_FARSIGHT field), and the latch half is the RESOLVED engage rather than the raw field — and the camera is untouched, you still look around freely, which is the whole point of the spell - the reset offer no longer outlives the character that earned it — log out after walking out of the Deadmines and your next character was offered a reset the first one had earned — and the one lockout leg no probe can ever reach (vmangos writes a last-instance map only from raid binds, which the client's handler discards as not-a-party-dungeon) is now covered end to end through the real system, its module doc saying plainly: tested and never observed Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

edit boxes take focus the way 1.12 does, and the stable shows its pets
- the caret was a wedge in the line: it sat in flow, four units wide, so focusing a login box shoved its text right by one caret and a caret parked mid-word opened a gap; it is a zero-width seam now with the bar drawn as an overlay (a 0×26 seam and a 5×26 bar at the same x, off a node probe), the way the reference anchors its caret quad over the FontString; a blurred box collapses its selection so only the box holding the keyboard shows one; and a dialog answers only keys pressed while it was already on screen — ENTER on an empty form used to open the error dialog and close it in the same frame - `autoFocus` defaults ON in the reference (the ctor leaves flags = 1, and every one of the ten `autoFocus` attributes in the shipped chain is an opt-out), showing an autoFocus box focuses it after its `OnShow`, and hiding the focused box releases the keyboard — the "never focuses on show" note we had transcribed came from a `call`-only census that missed a tail `jmp`; the loader's flag loop could only ever turn a flag on, so `autoFocus="false"` was a no-op, fixed before the default flipped or it would have grabbed exactly the ten boxes the reference exempts; and the EditBox does fire generic `OnChar` with the spliced string, on every typed or pasted character and never on `SetText` - the stable master's portrait was a black disc (its session was missing from the `"npc"` token chain — the third window to ship that way, so the test is now exhaustive over every `impl NpcSession` and names the one you forgot) and its model pane draws the selected pet: a stabled pet is a database row with no world entity, so a `PortraitStandIn(display_id)` — an entity that exists only to be mirrored — feeds the existing booth code unchanged; plus the registrar's two service rows were hidden by an inherited attribute, a charter's tooltip carries the guild name and master on line 3, and the Help window drops three strings pointing at a company that stopped answering Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

a full realm is a queue to wait in, and the login dialog is centred
- a full realm answers with `AUTH_WAIT_QUEUE`, and it used to be read as a refusal; the grammar is length-branching exactly as the reference's handler has it, so both mangos body shapes parse; the estimate is the reference's own 8-sample ring — divide before multiply, signed, no timer — whose displayed figure climbs while the queue is silent, pinned by a test so nobody "fixes" it; the dialog is the ordinary status dialog relabelled `CHANGE_REALM` (which cancels back to the login screen: no realm list exists yet), and cancelling actually leaves the queue — the IO thread used to keep its place and walk on into character select on admission - the stable master, corrected against the binary: a stabled-pet drag rides the shared cursor at payload mode 10 (the mode census had that row's label wrong), a plain click always returns 1 and a drop always nil, the summoned pet dropped on an occupied stable slot swaps (STABLE was refused whenever both bought slots were full, silently), an unpurchased slot takes nothing, the stabled→summoned fork reads the live pet guid not the row, the client itself sends `MSG_LIST_STABLED_PETS` on the interact leg, `PET_STABLE_SHOW` fires on every list, the selection is a petNumber and every list clears it, and result codes 2–7 do nothing at all - the login dialog's text is centred (a FontString with no `justifyH` is CENTER, and `GlueDialogText` has none), the fifteen-year-dead "see www.worldofwarcraft.com" clauses are cut at the clause, the Login click sound is unconditional (the reference plays `gsLogin` before it checks the boxes), dialog buttons play `gsTitleOptionOK`, the realmlist button's `gsClick` never existed and is `gsLoginNewAccount`, and focusing a login box selects it — a stated divergence Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

raid tab art is back, set bonuses fit, and 12 voices bound the mix
- the mix is bounded the way the reference's is: FMOD gave 1.12 exactly twelve software channels and nothing else limits a priest buffing five people — ported as a 12-voice ceiling (a probe capture read 42 live voices at +13 dBFS, the limiter pumping 13 dB to hold it), plus same-kit copies started in one frame capped at two, since five sample-aligned Fortitudes are one sound +14 dB; `$WOW_SOUND_PROBE` records the mix before and after the limiter with a timeline, F9 stamps the moment - the raid tab draws its window art again — its four corner textures were written with single backslashes, which Lua drops silently, and a sweep now reads every archive path a shipped Lua chunk names; a drag whose release never arrives (pointer left the window, a second press) ends instead of gluing the frame to the cursor for the rest of the session, and `WOW_PROBE_DRAG` drives any UI drag headlessly in a live client - the item tooltip fits its set bonuses again: an emptied line kept its last measured height forever (a pooled cell with no way to say "empty"), and the two blank rows above the set block are the reference's own literal (a space and a newline) — a whole row each, not the empty string - an equipped BoE or BoP piece reads Soulbound: the bind line reads the item's own flags through the client's bound predicate instead of the template's bonding, one predicate shared with the enchant cursor's bind confirm Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the auction house opens, the Honor tab lands, and a day of fixes
- the auction house end to end: right-clicking an auctioneer opens Browse/Bids/Auctions on the server's reply — search, the category tree from your own DBCs, the reference's 50-a-page pager, multi-key sorting (directions corrected at the bytes), bid/buyout, the sell slot with deposit and duration, cancel with its fee popup; prices sit on the reference's own money-frame kit in lined-up columns, the twenty auction messages split refusals-red / outcomes-to-chat, and a won or sold auction reads as a proper mail receipt — the window's Lua re-worded in our own terms after the overlap ratchet caught the first cut leaning on the reference's text - the PvP honor system whole: the Honor tab and the inspect page over a real wire model, with current rank and highest-ever rank correctly two different fields - a day of reported fixes: WASD survives a /logout re-entry, addon settings save on a window close and Cmd+Q (exactly once — a mac close could fire the tail twice), clams open again, random-enchant items name themselves on every surface, the loot window's rows hold their seats with legible counts, idle players stop sinking through building floors, the shooter re-pulls between Auto Shots, portraits loosen ~19% to the client's own aspect-1.0 matrix, and big creatures thump the camera off the CameraShakes table - character select clicks like 1.12 — captions whiten on hover, buttons fire on release, Humans face straight ahead off the stage bone's real yaw, the facing is per-character, and hunter/warlock pets stand beside you at their family-ramp size with their own emitters (the imp's flames), the Voidwalker's sequence-hidden shackles culled - the smaller player-facing set: nameplate on/off rows in Options with the CanAttack category gate (emissaries stop plating), the bonus bar slides up with igBonusBarOpen, the camera's framing height glides on a shapeshift, the open letter evicts the centre seat, the far-band fog hull stops printing a pale horizon stripe at low view distance, the guide arrow is gold with per-source rim art, error text fades through its shadow too, and /convertraid converts the party - README: the auction house and PvP honor move out of "not built yet" Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the addon arc: the AddOns folder opens
- benilla loads real 1.12 addons from Interface/AddOns — TOC, XML and Lua through one loader, with per-addon saved variables, Bindings.xml and the lifecycle events addons expect - both AddOns screens are in: the character-select list with per-addon enable state, and the ESC menu's in-game list - the API surface is measured, not guessed — a corpus harness runs hundreds of real 1.12 addons and ranks exactly which globals, templates and verbs they demand - the Lua dialect is the client's own, read off the binary — 5.0 semantics with the 1.12 additions, and UI source files are bytes, not UTF-8 Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the dressing room opens, and the pet gets its paper doll
- ctrl-click an item to try it on: the dressing room dresses your double, and shift-click posts the item link to chat - the pet tab lands in the character window: paper doll stats, family and diet, the right-click menu, and dropping food on the pet feeds it - water-only spells refuse on dry land: aquatic form gates to swimming, client-side like the real one - the macro icon picker's white squares get their art back, and option rows explain themselves on hover Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

footprints on snow and sand, and the drunk effect staggers in
- drink enough and the screen blurs and your walk meanders, the camera carried along with the stagger; the underwater blur ships in the same lane - boots leave prints on snow and sand that fade away in about six seconds, paws and hooves included - key bindings move into the Options window with the rest of the settings, and action buttons abbreviate their hotkeys the way the client does - the pet bar rearranges by drag, a running pet spell shows its active icon and a click cancels it, and spell ribbons follow their verified physics Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

pets get their action bar, macros arrive, and hunters draw the bow
- a hunter's or warlock's pet has its action bar now: attack, follow, stay, the pet's own spells with cooldowns and autocast sparkles - the macro system lands: the macro window, the icon chooser, /cast and /macro, and macros dragged onto the action bar - hunter shots look right at last: the bow draws and releases on the shot, and the arrow lays a spark trail its whole flight - the options window re-dresses in 1.12's own art with the classic dialog look, and gets a working search box and clickable steppers Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the loading screen warms every shader, and locked chests say LOCKED
- the loading screen now compiles every shader the world can reach: sky, water, spell shards and model variants stop hitching the first time they appear - a locked chest's cursor carries the LOCKED word like the real client, and the lock verdict never leaks into the sent packet - enchanting asks before it acts: a bind-on-enchant item gets its confirm popup, and so does replacing an enchant that's already there - a long gossip menu scrolls like the reference with rows grown to their wrapped text, and music already playing is not restarted when the server re-sends it Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

click your mount again to dismount, and the poof puffs
- clicking your mount item while mounted dismounts you, and the mount icon no longer wears a stack "1" - the horse appears and you're simply in the seat pose with the mount's cloud puff, no spellcast finishing over the saddle — and dismounting cuts clean to standing, no phantom jump-landing - a mounted rider counter-turns head only, item-targeted spells show the targeting cursor, and the wrong thing in a quiver says "Only Arrows can be placed in that." - liquid lookups ride a spatial index, and the camera's waterline comes from the client's own corner probe Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

mounting keeps your buff visuals, and tooltips say the enchant
- the mount transition re-seats the rider instead of rebuilding them: shield glows, weapon enchants and worn visuals stay lit through mount and dismount - an enchanted item's tooltip carries its enchant line, coloured per slot, with a temporary enchant's countdown - a server refusal with nothing to say now says nothing: the raw "Inventory error" debug line is gone, real refusals still print - the mail icon clears when you close the mailbox, and translucent models classify against the water plane Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

buff timers tick, ground spells find the floor, stuck drags let go
- buff durations count down properly: the bar polls the remaining time every frame and a server-sent span reads as real seconds - ground-targeted spells find the floor: Consecration's and Flamestrike's hovering discs ride the decal projector, and Frost Nova's births ride its expanding ring (the emitter params are per-frame tracks now) - a spell or action stuck on the cursor lets go on a left click, and a macOS hardware-cursor drift heals itself in-process - a stealthed weapon fades right: the fade twin's cutout follows the source blend, so an opaque batch never alpha-tests mid-fade Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

the social window, the escape menu, and items that work from the bar
- The social window: friends, ignore and `/who`, in the reference's own two-level arrangement with its inner tabs and per-row right-click menus. The lists ride the real wire — guid-keyed with no names, resolved through the name cache, and capped at 50 friends / 25 ignores because those are the client's own caps — and the ignore list does its actual job: an ignored speaker's chat is dropped silently, a whisper additionally tells the sender, and a duel challenge is auto-declined. Guild ships as a disabled tab, which is what a guildless character sees. - The escape menu: ESC's last rung finally opens something. The game menu lands at the reference's own size and ladder, and leaving works — logout and quit with the server owning the clock (instant at an inn, refused in combat, or the 20-second countdown), narrated by the real camp/quit dialogs. While the menu holds the center nothing else opens, and the bag bar greys out under it. - Items on the action bar act like items. An equipped trinket was a dead button; the reference's use law is two stages — not equippable means use, equippable and already worn means use in place — over its exact search order (equipment first, then the bags, then the backpack, then the keyring; never the bank). What can go on the bar is now the reference's own two filters, byte-read: an item with an on-use spell or one you can equip, and no passive spells — and dropping a passive there speaks the real client's own line, "You can't put a passive ability in the action bar." - A quest-starter item opens its quest instead of "The item was not found." The question goes to the item's own guid, never through item-use — which the server refuses for every one of the 215 quest-starter items — and refusing the quest says what the client says, then closes the window. - For the toolbox: a pixel pick that reports everything under the cursor all the way back, a lens that says which render phase a draw landed in, and switches that separate "discarded" from "lost depth" from "never drawn" — built while cornering a flickering tent, whose fix ships in the next snapshot.
