Okay, it seems like the solution was found. I just saw it in the world chat and it works for me like a charm without vpn. You should add the following strings into your hosts file. On Windows it's located here: c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts , I'm sure Linux users know what to do ...

Had a feeling it all pointed back to Blizz. Big company can hide behind multiple layers of plausible deniability when doing something illegal.

Finally get onto one of the servers, HC one, so might as well make a guy to at least play something. Says I'm not connected to the internet. Alright lol

The graphical stutter ever 1-2 seconds that is constantly happening since the update kinda sucks but guess just have to get used to it. Tried tons of different options with no success.

EDIT. Turning off the "use more than 2gb memory" option fixed the stutter ...

My whole directory is just messed up so blessing in disguise to have to fix it. When I first DL and install the game I put it in my D/ drive, it didnt make its own folder, just shoved everything lose. So hopefully if I get it working it will be cleaner.

Updated the launcher to 1.3.7. Hit update game, get "Error: EPERM: operation not permited, mkdir 'file location'

Now my launcher cannot find wow.exe in the folder.

Need to start from square one.
How do I make sure my characters are not deleted if I do a full re-isntall?
