Can connect with hotspot but not WiFi

Hi everyone.

So I have been briefly playing OctoWoW. I recently got a new internet service at my residence. I noticed that I couldn’t connect to the server from the login screen after launching the .exe. The launcher doesn’t connect either. This is when I’m on my WiFi. I seem to be able to access other sites fine, so the internet is working.

I then tried connecting my pc to my mobile hotspot using my phone. With that, the game launcher works and I am able to correctly get the game working from the login screen.

Do you have any ideas what might cause this issue? I’ve tried a few things like using IPv4 rather than IPv6, but I’m wondering if this might be an issue with my internet provider, which is Spectrum, blocking sites.

Any advice and tips on what to try next are much appreciated. It’s impractical to play using my phone as a hotspot.

If you check out the Announcements section of the forums...you'll see that OcotWoW is currently being attacked, for the 3rd time, by DDOS.

Thanks for the reply. That isn’t the issue I’m having, though I do know of the ongoing ddos attacks. The issue I’m having is as described above.
Any advice on that specifically is appreciated.

Hi all. I wanted to share that I did resolve the problem. My solution might help others, so I want to share that.

The clue was indeed that the mobile hotspot was working to connect to the game but my internet provider was not. Spectrum apparently blocks access. This can be fixed by two methods.
1. Disable Spectrum Shield
Or
2. Download and use Cloudflare Warp

I did the latter, and it worked perfectly.
