How exactly do the PVP Ranks work?

Hi everybody,

first of all if this question has been answered before, I`m sorry to ask. I myself couldn`t find any explanation on the website or forums. I also cant find a more appropriate subforum than this.

The question is in the title: How exactly do PVP Ranks work on Octo WoW?


Where I`m coming from: I`ve been Rank 4 (about 75% to 5) and have been doing battlegrounds in the 39 bracket for a good while. I didnt gain any more rank, even after quite some battlegrounds.

Now having leveled up to 40, then 41, I still dont seem to get past Rank 4 75% to 5, no matter how much I queue. Since I dont have that much time to play Im not sure if I just need to grind more, or if there is a hardcap, probably connected to my lvl? And if so, what lvl do I need to be abled to progress to rank 5?

I really appreciate any answer.

Forum has been split oddly to PvE/PvP/HC realms but this division doesn't make much sense now. You posted your question in suggestions related to PvP.

Answering your question, I haven't got a problem with Rank limit on R4/R5 on my char. My char is lv 60 so it's probably due to your level. As far as I know there is no Rank Points limit at all. Only Honor is capped at 20k.
