How exactly do PVP Ranks work (on lower lvls)?

Hi everybody,

first of all if this question has been answered before, I`m sorry to ask. I myself couldn`t find a real explanation on the website or forums. I also can`t find a more appropriate forum section than this, since there is no general pvp forum.

The question is in the title: How exactly do PVP Ranks work on Octo WoW?


Where I`m coming from: I`ve been Rank 4 (about 75% to 5) and have been doing battlegrounds in the 39 bracket for a good while. I didn`t gain any more rank, even after quite some battlegrounds (I was lvl 39 for over a day of playtime).

Now having leveled up to 40, then 41, I still don`t seem to get past Rank 4 75% to 5, no matter how much I queue.


Is there a hardcap, probably connected to my lvl?

And if so, what lvl do I need to be abled to progress to rank 5?

If this is anything like Classic and not changed at all, the following Ranks can be attained at following levels:

1-32 Rank 3
33-37 Rank 4
38-40 Rank 5
41-43 Rank 6
44-45 Rank 7
46-48 Rank 8
49-50 Rank 9
51-52 Rank 10
53-54 Rank 11
55-56 Rank 12
57-58 Rank 13
59-60 Rank 14

Keep in mind the cap of 20k Honour and Rank 10 cutoff, you can max rank at level 51 here for the time being and at 39 should be able to obtain Rank 5, which I have seen in BGs myself and currently grind towards. Press H to see your progress bar, it fills up without having to wait a week.
