I see, didn't think about that. But a little gold from selling gear to vendor is still more than no gold at all, so ninja looters don't really lose anything from this change. What's more, players who are somewhat unlucky will lose the ability to buy gear on AH

By "gear" I meant only loot, not crafted items. Someone might want to loot a specific BoE, but it doesn't even drop every time (keep in mind that in addition to the drop itself, they still need to win a roll for it). Having lost patience, they might buy it on AH. Making all BoE loot soulbound if needed (essentially making it BoP) will only hurt these players.

I really don't think it's particularly hard to grasp. And I don't believe your logic makes sense.

Unfortunately ninja looters will always need because if they win, they receive guaranteed gold from selling loot to vendor, even though it can be hundreds of times less profitable than selling on AH. They'll win some rolls, but they won't be able to sell the loot on AH, which means the supply will decrease (only what honest players got from greed will remain), leading to higher prices. In the end, someone was griefed + AH prices are higher.

I understand the problem, but I doubt there's a good solution from the developers side. I do believe a forum thread about known ninjalooters would be much more effective: they would be kicked out of groups and raids and banned from guilds. Also being a guild member protects you from ninjalooters, since hardly any guild tolerates their behavior.

I suspected you thought that. But then why doesn't ninja looters roll Need on all blue BoP items in dungeons? (I've at least never experienced that kind of ninjalooting) It's because the vendor price is not incentive enough.
