But there are no "rules". To this very day the copy/paste "rules" are enforced on some, ignored for others. At that, the "rules" are made up on the fly, randomly at best, and used by those who paracited and wormed their way into elevated access to endlessly harass others in the game.Tegridyfarms420 wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 1:24 pm Letting people get unbanned for donating too the Octo server for any reason would be a bad idea. You would effectively be telling your playerbase there are no rules as long as you have enough money to donate too the server.
Brother, what are you even talking about? If you're going to say shit like that, provide some examples at least. There absolutely are rules, as seen in this subforum. Which ban appeals do you disagree with? Lets talk specifics, not vague horseshit.Terribletank wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 3:51 pmBut there are no "rules". Its funny as your request was actually proposed. Due to the rampant gm/admin abuse taking place on the server it was suggested that all actions taken against any certain player/account are to be made public. In other words, documentation of the alleged "rule" being violated, documentation or some type of evidence of the alleged "rule" being violated, and documentation of alleged "gm" enacting said measures. If these sanction based acts were public, much of the abuse would be stymied, and it would also be easy to determine and weed out the bad apples. This proposal was shot down all but immediately, despite knowledge of the massive levels of gm/admin abuse taking place today, and since the origin of the launch of the server.Defiant wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 6:55 pmBrother, what are you even talking about? It has not been established there is rampant abuse. This is like one of those Kotaku articles where they state the internet is in an uproar about something and it's 1 guy posting on Twitter about it.Terribletank wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 3:00 pm

They can not make everything public without letting the cheaters know what lead to them being caught, thus helping them avoid it in the future. This has been iterated upon many times and is very common practice... For example this is why Blizz does bans in waves.Terribletank wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 3:00 pm In other words, documentation of the alleged "rule" being violated, documentation or some type of evidence of the alleged "rule" being violated, and documentation of alleged "gm" enacting said measures.
Again, you say there is rampant abuse, but none of us see it. Please provide something other than anecdotal evidence.Terribletank wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 3:00 pm If these sanction based acts were public, much of the abuse would be stymied, and it would also be easy to determine and weed out the bad apples. Dont want to spend much time on this fruitless endeavor...Wubc wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 4:20 pmIt has not been established there is rampant abuse. If there was rampant abuse you would have been banned long ago. The fact that they let people like you blatantly lie is evidence that they are in fact quite fair.Terribletank wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 9:07 pm 3. You claim noone sees it yet all do, including the thousands who have been muted/banned unjustly,
What would ever make you think that i haven't been banned a long time ago? If you must know, i was banned on my very first toon, the very first day i logged in, and less than 5 minutes into the game, just for asking questions about managements position relating to certain elements in the game.Defiant wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 9:18 pmIf there was rampant abuse you would have been banned long ago. And they've banned thousands of people? Wild. Thousands? That's a lot of bans. Are they also deleting the ban appeals? Are they also controlling all the Reddit threads that would pop up if this was happening? Is Octowow the Illuminati?! IS THE EARTH FLAT?!
You cannot provide a single example. End of thread.
Now it all makes sense, I thought this poster sounded familiar! They sent what is probably the most memorable email I have received in my life.Terribletank wrote: Fri Sep 11, 2026 9:28 pm 1. Management knows full well there is rampant abuse, and has known for quite some time
