I have played WOW for years and i have only played on PVP servers. When i wanted a fresh start i went to Turtle as tehy had Ambershire RPPVE server opening. My main focus was that its a fresh server. People love fresh above anything else. Gives you a feeling of a new fair start.

That is why Ambershire had 4 times higher population that Turtles old PVP server.
i keep reading that there are plans to open a PVP server on Octowow ... big mistake. Not cuz ppl dont want a pvp server but because you will open TWO fresh servers at the same time splitting the community that is extremly small as it is. So instead of having one growing server you are risking it all by having 2 "empty" servers.

Im all for a PVP server but not NOW. Do what Turtle did. Let the one server grow and down the line when Normal server gets to Naxx phase THEN you open up a new PVP server giving people a fresh start.

I don't see the issue here. People that like playing on PvE and that are already playing on PvE will stay on PvE. People that are interested in PvP realm which are not playing at the moment will go to PvP realm. Pvp realms seem to be lower population, seems like majority doesn't like PvP so thats kind of expected. There are only a few PvP private servers, none of them are turtle wow vanilla + and none of them offer that experience. You already have 2 realms, hardcore and PvE normal, thats already "dividing the fanbase" but not really. Its good to have both PvP and PvE realm.

Turtle opened second PvE server because Nordanaar was already too crowded. It doesn't matter if PvE normal realm on OctoWoW reaches 6k people online or 1k people online, it won't affect the population on PvP realm at all since none of thos PvE people want to play on PvP realm, those populations are completely separate communities and they remained as such in TurtleWoW.

Also, TurtleWoW opened PvP realm because there was a demand for PvP realm. It started off as an RP/PvE server only and then they branched out when they could. This is a resurrection of TurtleWoW essentially, literally no need to go through all that song and dance when people who want to play already exist and OctoWoW is capable of hosting more realms unless OctoWoW has some other issues but seeing that they have PTR, HC realm and PvE realm, I don't think it is an issue.

If you want vanilla+ content and PvP where would you go? Bronzebeard? Bronzebeard is like retail with sort of vanilla + but nothing even close to turtle. Project Epoch? Dead server that had good ideas at the start but is now held hostage with ton of bugs and no devs.

I agree with Vex. Several guilds are waiting for the Octo PvP server and are not playing on the PvE server. This means the server population will consist not only of those who will stop playing on the PvE server and start on the PvP server, but also of those who will join the PvP server directly.

Furthermore, the upcoming opening of permanent registration should increase the player base; if we see a significant influx of players, that would be a good sign.

Problem is this one server we have now is underpopulated as it is. I hit 60 and dng grps are scarse. Now all im doing is waiting for the population to grow so i can start playing the endgame.

Its going to grow, especially when they remove the limited time sign up. These are already impressive numbers considering server started from nothing being branded as malware on turtle wow discord. Unfortunately, turtle wow shutting down scattered everyone everywhere so not everyone from turtle wow is playing here or waiting to play here nor are they aware of the servers existence. Many still doubt this server, they can't tell if they can trust them. Do keep in mind, currently octowow can be accessed through limited time sign up only, thats a big factor but more and more people are interested in leveling on octo again because turtle wow, unlike other servers, had some special mojo that other servers don't have and that alone makes people, including myself, want to play it even with bugs present.

But trust, people who play on PvE don't want to go to PvP realm, many of them are simply not interested in PvP, maybe battleground here and there but thats it. And yes, like Crococto said, there are main pvp guilds from tel abim that are waiting for pvp realm to drop so we can get in the game.

I just hope they don't copy the 2x XP from Turtle WoW. I refused to play Tel'Abim because of the high XP rates. I want to main on a PvP world but with regular rates paired with Slow & Steady.

So the population that wants to play on PvP server should roll on the PvE one in order for people who dinged 60 amazingly fast can run dungeons? Does not work that way, people cannot be forced to play something so vastly different compared to what they really want. You can wait instead for other PvE players to ding 60 and have your cake and eat it.
