Application Doesn't Launch

I've tried downloading the game multiple times with all three options, but every time, I end up with a file that's around 4,800 KB that will not open. I've checked my firewall, I've checked my quarantine, I've checked many posts on this forumn, but I can't seem to find an answer as to why the game itself doesn't launch. Has anyone experienced something similar and (hopefully) resolved this issue?

Does not launch for me either. If I go off and run the Vanilllafixes.exe , that will run and complain about vulkan. I never remember having any issues like this with turtlewow running on steam, using proton. I remember their client 'just ran' with the proton and I didn't really have to do anything special. -- I'm using proton 9.0.4 at the moment, I'll go try a few nearby versions for kicks, but I suspect there is something 'not right' with the WoW.exe 4,812 KB (from a couple days ago), and I'm downloading the newest one right now, and will repeat the steps. --- I had tried running the launcher, but then it complains about about symlink, regardless of what location I try to have the install performed

After updating to Proton 11.2, I was able to run the launcher, and it downloaded the application. It downloaded the same one I had earlier today. Neither of these will start the WoW.exe executable. There are no Logs other than
