Using software to manage multiboxing is absolutely against the rules, if someone is using a script to automate multiple accounts doing summons that is absolutely against the rules, if someone is entering LFT as a multibox that's absolutely against the rules. It takes you literally 10 seconds to make a report. You type /gm and then you give the players name and what they're doing. Maybe 30 seconds if you're an extremely slow typer. But instead of doing that, you spend more time whining on the forums? Wild.

It is literally your job to make reports when players break the rules, it is the WHOLE POINT of you having access to reports, we don't have a magical eye of sauron that will flawlessly judge everyone in the server, and most importantly this is NOT Blizzard. As someone who read the entirety of your pity post, you're just mad Defiant clocked it in the first sentence. Everything he wrote in response is prophetically accurate to the rest of your post. If someone is breaking the rules, make a GM report.

You could also go for the route chromie took, add a rule that a multiboxer is explicitly required to fuck right off if they're getting in the way of a real player's questing progress.

I think the Chromie rules is an elegant solution. If someone is trying to kill the mobs someone else is using to boost for a quest or also to grind, the player on the lvl 60 should definitely go find a different source of exp, or if they NEED that mob to stop using the boosting character to hog the tags.

That's how I operate in general when I'm multiboxing. I find it's just respectful. Also, I kind of feel that's how the majority of multiboxers already operate. I've personally never witnessed the kind of bad actors described in this thread-- I'm sure they exist, don't get me wrong, but I haven't seen it myself. Most people I've run into on Octo and interacted with are generally reasonable. I feel like the vast majority of people multiboxing if they were asked by a solo player to let them get kills, they would back off.

Having that be a rule though is probably very very very hard to actually monitor and enforce. I feel like it would result in a lot of reports that would be relatively biased. It would result in a lot of situations where it's basically he said she said, it would be hard for GMs to actually tell after the fact what happened. Maybe if there's clear video evidence showing wrong doing, but even then it's kind of subjective, with videos a lot can be taken out of context...

I think at the very least that should be given as a general guideline though.
