At this rate, by the time I can finally log in again, everyone will probably be fully geared from BWL. And as for the world first title, it was earned through an unfair competition anyway, so what's the point?
On the contrary, it has been extremely easy to stick with you all given the competence that you all have displayed in addition to your ongoing commitments to bring back TWoW, produce future content, and most importantly of all maintain the anonymity that you do. I think that most of the loud people represent a small portion of the actual players and will also never be satisfied nor will they understand what it is that you are trying to do and how the methods you all utilize are the proper methods to getting things done. There are many of us who understand the need for anonymity as well as the challenges brought about by maintaining that anonymity, and we certainly appreciate it.Rook wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 1:57 pm Regarding the Blackwing Lair release and your feedback
Thank you all for the honest feedback. We want to explain our thinking behind some decisions.
Attunement and BWL version
The attunement opens on the 25th, 17:00 UTC, to give everyone enough time to get attunement before release and not having to fight over who gets the tag first. We’ve also restored TurtleWoW's 1.18 version of Blackwing Lair.
Release time
Our schedule has to work for the majority of our players. Moving the release to suit Asian time zones would push it to an impractical hour for our American and a lot European players, and we’d just be swapping one group’s problem for another’s. We know that’s frustrating for those of you that live in Asia, and we’re sorry that no time works for everyone. We can’t keep every everyone happy with a single launch time. (I wish we could trust me)
“Too soon” on the PvP server
We understand that some guilds haven’t finished MC, especially with the DDoS attacks. The PvP server has been running for five months now, and many players are ready for more and would prefer it even sooner. We have to balance both groups. BWL is not going away, and progression will be around for a long time, so there’s room to catch up. (advantage of horizontal progression right?)
Login issues
We know it’s frustrating to be locked out while everyone else progresses, and we don’t want anyone left behind because of technical problems. We are working around the clock to get everything sorted, but as Kestrel has stated many times. Its not easy, while also staying anonymous.
What’s next
Custom content is in the works. The DDoS attacks and server problems have taken up most of our development team’s time, and still are. We’re putting it all back into stability first, and we appreciate your patience while we work through it.
Thank you for sticking with us. We know it hasn’t been easy.
Okay, slight problem with that, that I think most people should be in agreement on is: that version was implemented for the bored K40 guilds! It's absolutely not suited for groups in dungeon/MC gear. Hence the question regarding increased loot pool?Rook wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 1:57 pm We’ve also restored TurtleWoW's 1.18 version of Blackwing Lair.
The new BWL is more than suited for people in dungeon/MC gear. The only fight that is a little spicy is firemaw with it's weird voidezone positioning. There is nothing in there that requires any better gear, just half a brain.Mullygrubb wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 3:20 pmOkay, slight problem with that, that I think most people should be in agreement on is: that version was implemented for the bored K40 guilds! To be objective, the PvP server is already on life support. BGs don't pop, the economy is absolute dogshit, people are quitting every day for various reasons, and between the disconnects, login failures and lag, AND the dogshit XP rate, nobody wants to start here. Add to this, a new raid that will require an absolute bucket load of consumables (each week) and almost certainly cause a material deficit due to so many dropped to raid-logging, and I really don't see how we survive this.
The dev team's one-size-fits-all mindset has been thoroughly damaging to the PvP server. The DDoS issues merely exacerbated the problem. We need changes even if the other server-types don't.
Yeah nah the first part just isn't true at all. The top guilds were full clearing BWL on Ambershire in MC/ZG gear in 40-50min.Mullygrubb wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 3:20 pmOkay, slight problem with that, that I think most people should be in agreement on is: that version was implemented for the bored K40 guilds! I apologize if my question was misinterpreted.Rook wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 1:57 pm Regarding the Blackwing Lair release and your feedback

Never sacrifice for maintaining your current standard. People who care and recognize your efforts will stick with you no matter how many issues you encounter, no matter how long it takes to log in, and no matter what else is released elsewhere in the mean time.
I don't know if I understand it correctly but in other words that means people responsible for server stability are also the same ones responsible for future "custom" content? It doesn't make much sense to me because how a guy responsible for sculpting new dungeon in 3D or a guy who writes new lore could be busy with fixing server stability? I'm afraid they are illiterate in that regard... so I'm more in favour of believing that the people who make custom content are the ones who fix the server...Rook wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 1:57 pm Custom content is in the works.
