So I've been looking at Molten Core boss droprates and I stumbled upon some proper bullshit. Why do I call it bullshit immediately? Trust me, it's not an overreaction. Check the following:
https://octowow.st/db/?npc=12056#drop:0-13-12+1
This is Baron Geddon drop table. For those reading who don't know what groups are - in short, if a boss drops 5 items that means there are 5 different groups. So it drops an item from group1, an item from group2, on and on.
So let's take a look what's actually wrong with Baron Geddon and paladin shoulders. First, let me show you what shoulders can Geddon drop overall, this is a picture from Atlas Loot:

You can see Geddon can drop Druid, Warlock, Mage, Shaman and Paladin shoulders.
So now we go to database, and you can see the following:

Mage and Warlock shoulders are in group3, along with a ring. This means that group3 drops either a ring or mage/warlock shoulders.
Druid/Shaman shoulders are in group2, along with a few other 4% droprate items. This means group2 can drop 12 items total, with druid/shaman shoulders having 30% droprate.
Did you notice there are no Paladin shoulders here? So... wellllll... there's... this:

Paladin shoulders are present only in group4. Each item in group4 has 8% droprate. On top of that, there's another pair of Druid shoulders there. Which means not only do you have only 8% chance to drop the paladin shoulders, they also compete with druid shoulders that are also present in group2.
What's even crazier is that the paladin group items are also present in group2. The same items have 4% droprate in group2 while they have 8% in group4. Look:

Please, consider moving paladin shoulders to another drop group. It's really unfair for 1 class to have 8% droprate on shoulders while 4 other classes have above 30% droprate. It's not ZulGurub you can run every 3 days. It's one chance per week. These shoulders are relatively very rare just because of this 8%.
In most raids you will have 3/4 paladins, usually 4. Statistically speaking, you will see one Paladin shoulder every 12 weeks (because 8% droprate), so one every 3 months. This means that for 4 paladins to get their shoulders, it would take 48 weeks. That's almost a full year just for 4 shoulders. Nuts.
We will be in Karazhan40 before we see 4th shoulder drop, statistically speaking. WTF
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
(yes im a paladin but if mage was in this situation I would absolutely make the same suggestion, just for mage)
