OctoWoW HD Switch + OctoWoW HD Installer
Turn your HD packs on and off without leaving the game, and install the whole tested HD setup with one click.

What is HD Switch?
HD Switch turns your HD graphics packs (Project Reforged and others) on and off from inside the game, with no restart and no logout. Textures, characters, creatures, buildings, doodads, the world, spell effects and sounds all switch live.

• One click: the minimap button turns every HD pack off. Click again and exactly the packs you had on come back.
• Per pack: right-click the minimap button for a switch for each installed pack.
• Character select and create: an HD: On / Off button at the top of both screens.
• Fixes white textures: some HD pack files are missing their smallest mip level, which turned the cast bar and other textures white after a resolution change. HD Switch completes them in memory.
• 2× and 4× character skins: works with VanillaHelpers' high-resolution skins.
• Remembers your choice, key bindings and slash commands (/hd on, /hd off, /hd toggle).

HD Switch works on OctoWoW only. On any other server it locks itself and leaves every pack as installed.

The installer
OctoWoW HD Installer (Windows and macOS) finds your game folder and installs, updates and removes everything with one click:

• HD Switch: can be installed on its own. It works with any letter packs, but see the note below.
• OctoWoW HD packs: the exact pack set HD Switch is tested with, the same files byte for byte for everyone. Project Reforged's packs are downloaded straight from Project Reforged's own server, not re-hosted.
• Nude skins (18+): optional, behind an age confirmation.

Every file is checked against its SHA-256 before it is put in place. Nothing is changed while the game is running. Packs you already have in the right version are not downloaded again, and interrupted downloads resume. Remove only deletes files the installer put there and restores anything it replaced. The installer also updates itself.

The supported setup

• Project Reforged: A, B, C, D, E, G, I, M, P, S and T (current versions, from their server)
• patch-O: Twow Raid Visuals 1.4.18 with OctoWoW's own spell tables, so OctoWoW's spells keep working
• patch-Z: the merged game tables of all of the above
• Patch-F: slimmer female models, fitted to the HD faces. High Elves keep OctoWoW's original eye glow.
• Patch-H: OctoWoW HD fixes (below)
• Patch-Y: nude skins, 18+, optional

A note on other packs: HD Switch toggles any patch-<letter>.mpq. With other packs or other versions it may work fine, but I can only guarantee and fix the set above. The installer tells you if your Data folder has packs outside it.

OctoWoW HD fixes (new in 1.2.2)
I checked every model, building and terrain file of the set with the game's own loading rules, taken from WoW.exe. Everything that actually showed up in the game is fixed:

• Invisible trees that still blocked your way (Durotar, Westfall, Redridge, Silverpine, Duskwood)
• White tree canopies, stumps and a rock (Redridge, Duskwood, Elwynn, Durotar)
• White glow on the Horde PvP cloth helms, a white patch on the bat taxi, white eye glow on High Elf NPCs
• Invisible undead horse creatures (a WotLK model the client rejects)
• White parts on the Northshire Abbey gates and on a Moonglade tree
• A white smear on the Seal of Righteousness impact, and white squares in forge smoke, swamp hut sparkles and war raptor exhaust

Each fix changes only the broken part. Where the missing piece exists nowhere, the original game's model is used. The full list, with the cause of each one, is in the README. When you turn a pack off in HD Switch, its fixes turn off with it.

The packs are other people's work. All credit for the models and textures goes to their authors; please support the original projects.

• Windows: OctoWoW-HD-Installer_1.1.0_Windows-x64-setup.exe. The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen will warn you: click More info, then Run anyway.
• macOS (Apple Silicon): OctoWoW-HD-Installer_1.1.0_macOS-arm64.dmg. Right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again.
• Manual install: OctoWoW-HD-Switch-v1.2.1.zip, with steps in the README.

Requires the OctoWoW client (1.12.1) with VanillaFixes (it loads the DLLs listed in dlls.txt).

Problems?
Post here or open an issue on GitHub, and attach mods\HDToggle.log (plus the newest file in your Errors folder if the game crashed). The log describes every toggle, so it usually tells me exactly what went wrong.

Tested on macOS with WoWSilicon. Windows reports are very welcome.
