You need to stop them slowing world chat. This type of overreach didn't happen in retail vanilla. People were free to talk about anything they wanted as long as it wasn't harassing. GMs didn't get involved in anything social unless a report was made. We're all in our late 20s, 30s, 40s, I.e. not kids. We don't need hand holding. That's my personal gripe.

My real reason is to tell Kestrel this. Give your GMs some big boy pants. The least they need to do is inform us why slowmode is on instead of just toggling it on or off when they please. It leaves more questions than answers. And when your playerbase is weakest (600 players online) it might be a good idea to keep us happy.

And btw, I was muted 3 days for writing a targeted non harassing comment in WC: "feminized gm with nothing better to do than to slowmode us because hes pissy."

No curse words, no harassing language. Just a statement/opinion. If your GMs are so childish and insecure they can't handle words, you need to rethink your model. No one needs this type of childishness coming from GMs. Put it in context. If I said that exact thing to a cop they'd look at me and go, "I can't arrest him."

Now if I want to LFG, I have to turn on the World chat and read through a lot of stuff I am not interested in.

And vice versa, when I want to chat with people on World, I get constantly drowned by LFGs and Guild Recruit macros

The server would greatly benefit from having these three channels separated, and actively enforced the separation.

In that case, there would be no need for a chat slowdown, because who cares if the chat moves fast, when there's nothing of substance there to read.

And maybe even the Radio channel, because it's once again annoying talking to people on World and then getting interrupted by people who are talking with the DJ, or just spamming song lyrics (nanana?)

Honestly, everytime I enter Octowow, i'm often leaving world chat because of the degeneracy taking root there.
My friends do the same.
I approve everything GM's are doing to stop filth from spreading.

Well considering that's how most groups are formed and how most guilds recruit, successfully, I think you're absolutely wrong? They're also not "spam" as they're relevant to the game. The shit that got you banned though? That is not relevant to the game.

Most people play video games as an escape, and they don't want to escape into the mental asylum that some of you people turn world chat into. It's not complicated. People just aren't interested in you turning a channel with 1500 - 3000 people in it into your own little personal soap box. There are plenty of Discord servers for you to all be yourselves where you're not weirding out a few thousand innocent bystanders.

The GMs here from what I've seen are very lenient. If you're being banned and muted it's for a damn good reason. You've personally been muted over a dozen times and banned twice correct? But you want to make the issue about people using the channel legitimately?

And if anyone disagrees that they're lenient, you should take a look through the ban appeals. It takes *a lot* for someone to end up being banned for speech on this server. It takes a lot just to get muted from what I can tell.

Id say both things arent related, and obnoxious guild/dung recruit msgs should have decency to not spam it more then 1x every 10or15min. And ye if i open ban appeals the amount of giga toxic msgs is laughable as yshaarjian where we behave in worldchat. (Also on yshaarj ive seen a guild that has a bot that whispers guildless people a recruit msgs, not sure what my opinion is on those existing)

I agree with that mostly, at least for guild recruitment. It really shouldn't be posted more than once every ten minutes. For forming groups though? I'd say more like once a minute. Especially when people like Asscastle are absolutely spamming world chat with complete nonsense so no one can even see the actual game related messages.

But we aren't talking about reasonable limitations on game related messages, we're talking about people like Asscastle who have been muted a dozen times and banned twice.

Maybe World Chat isn't a problem when there's only 90 people logged in to Y'shaarj, but when there's 3000 people on N'zoth it's an issue and it needs to be moderated. We aren't talking about Y'shaarj, right?
