Aspect ratio / VanillaFixes compatibility

Has anyone found a way to access widescreen / modern resolution settings? Typically on 1.x based clients I've needed VanillaFixes or other client mods dependent on VanillaFixes, but trying to fix the .exe with VF fails (and throws a DLL error about an incompatible client).

This is including the mods and versions provided via the Octo client.

Until then I'm limited to 4:3 capped to 1600x1200, stretched to 3440x1440 or a small window, though I remember there being some workaround in 1.17 days.

Surely some of you are playing in widescreen? lol

Thanks and good luck

Bump.

Having similar issues, can't get Vanilla Fixes to work (very bad stutter and animation lag in-game).
Also can't seem to change 60HZ to a higher amount in the settings.

Vanilla Fixes throws up a "make sure you have a compatible client" error.

I was just looking around to see if someone had found a fix for this issue but it doesn't seem so quite yet. Adding my voice to the crowd here for visibility.

The highest refresh rate is 120HZ right now, you can't go above that.

hmm that sucks, game feels incredibly choppy and stuttery without vanilla fixes. pretty much unplayabale atm :/

They will probably fix it, because there is screen tearing and all kind of issues for monitor above 1080p and 120hz.

So we can confirm there is no fix for resolution? World chat is lying to me :D

For those of you whose primary concern here is the resolution issue, I'm happy to report that the issue seems to be resolved for me.
Currently I only have dxvk installed as far as mods and OctoWoW now recognizes my resolution of 3440x1440 wheras before it only went up to 1920x1080.

VanillaFixes still does not appear to be working but that's less of a concern for me personally.

Vanilla Fixes is kind of essential tbh, 1.12 client is just so outdated
