Hotfix required regarding names used for characters on the new realm. We are unable to play. It seems like char names are shared across all realms. So if we have char named "Bob" on the pve/hc realm, this name is unavailable in pvp realm. We have to delete character "Bob" from PVE realm, to be able to create one with name "Bob" on the new pvp realm. It is also valid if you create a character "Bob" on PVP realm, then its unavailable on PVE realm. I tried with 10-15 different names on pvp realm without success, creating a character even random letters like "asddffagsd" is unavai, before that it was not possible, that means i have to delete my main on PVE realm to use its name, i will never delete my progress. Issue confirmed by many people on discord who cannot create character. Some people are reporting that somehow they managed to have the same name on PVP realm as their main name on PVE realm, but they do not know how. Some people report that this bug was not persistant at least 1 hour after launch of the new realm, and they have two characters with same name on both realms, but they are now experience it too.

I'm not sure it's working now. But it was in the plans. It was announced at QnA session if i remember correctly

By the way, I was thinking about this and it could be a system for transferring characters from hardcore to a regular server as well. But anyway my bet this is not a bug.

When i check it that winter it was about 1000 (5000 on rppve at same time)

Concurrent 1,000 is great and healthy for a PvP server. As I can see it our daily peak pop is at a sustained 550 - Gurubashi had more at a couple points but both times it decayed due to a dystopian-level lack of support by Ascension. On Octowow it seems like Y'Shaarj has 100x more administrative support than Epoch ever had as a whole network while under Ascension, so I see this as thriving with the pserver community in the state that it's in.

Don't just wait, level your character and not only will you be ahead but the pop will be +1. Long-term is the key here. The prospect of cross-realm BG is very exciting to me, we might live to see some packed queues.

Will those of us who participated in the closed beta be able to get Ozzy and the title for our first PvP character? I probably won't be playing with my PvE character anymore and it would suck to miss out on that exclusive loot because the PvP server didn't exist in time.

Wanted to leave my first impressions somewhere, decided not to create a separate topic.

Overall the launch was very smooth, a big success for Octo team! Also the policy of 'PVP always on' is amazing for the PVP server.
But there are few things that in my opinion needs to be tuned.
The first one is the leveling speed. It's so much slower compared to Tel'Abim that it feels like a punishment. x2 experience rates felt so much better. I know that some people were playing bgs in the first day and they got a lot of xp from them, but now low lvl bgs are already spoiled by twinks in premades, so for myself I see no point in joining them until 60, when we all will be able to play on the same terms.
The 2nd thing is pfQuest not working correctly for the 'new' content, and even for some 'old' quests too. With so low xp rate it makes the leveling process even more painful.

Tbh if you added a challenge for 10x xp rates, but I would have to forever use some 'punishing' title, I'd take it just to shorten the pain from leveling..

Since Duraluminium brought up the topic of XP rates, I’d like to agree that it would be a good idea to increase the rate slightly on the PvP realm. Let's say 1.5x - that’s still not a rushed pace; those who want "slow and steady" leveling experience would still gain less XP than at 1x, yet hitting level 60 would be a bit faster. It might even attract new players. After Turtle WoW shut down, some people tried out several new projects and now simply don't have the energy left for leveling on Octo
