Mechanism against killing grey lvl players should be these grey lvl players asking for a help from their faction, and having a lot of active pvp players in this server means it will be easy to find a retribution team that will come and punish the gankers, which certainly were, are and will be in WoW. The game is called Warcraft for f**ks sake - creating limits to kill another faction is weird.
Please do not do such things to create additional shenanigans/exploits and limit the fun.
If there are people who are not happy being killed - they can go play Hello Kitty Party Land.

We will be disabling this debuff on the next restart due to the potential issues around city raids triggering this debuff.

We have already made changes to increase honor from open world kills, as well as reward EXP for HK's.

It is our intention to bring this debuff back in a modified form at some point. We recognize that any change to the PvP realm will result in backlash, and we still plan on making changes. We want to ensure that the community is heard, but also that the loud voices are not the only ones heard. I will be making a sticky thread in the suggestions chat with details on a proposed second iteration of this debuff to gather more community feedback.

Unbelievable. Four pages of people clearly explaining how shit this idea is in principle and that it absolutely has no place on a dedicated PvP realm, and they are still willing to bring it back with some tweaks.

I'm not gonna weigh in, but I must say, seeing this be the hottest topic on the forum by far and it was posted today is very encouraging for me to see. Lots of dedication, it speaks volumes to the servers potential. I hope to see this become a very healthy server.

Ya this will definitely cause problems for city raids and gurabashi arena and stuff. And 10 mins is crazy for the first kill lol. If this system was to be used, it'd have to be zero to low punishment unless you kill many many lowbies in quick succession or kill the same lowbie repeatedly.

Maybe instead put a buff on a lowbie that dies to a high level player that lasts a few minutes. this grace period buff makes them unflagged (only vs high level players) unless they attack first. But maybe this would be too easy to abuse.

Could maybe add this same grace period in your own capital cities as well.

This is a terrible idea. So no world pvp? No raids on faction cities or outposts? What if you're 60 and a grey attacks you while you have thorns? Do you just get a debuff, potentially escalating to a temp ban if they coordinate? You can't even do things like kill faction leaders for fun because low levels can just position themselves to die to AOE and force this stacking debuff on you. Respectfully, this change is short-sighted and a gross over-correction to prevent griefing. If this change stays, the pvp server is DOA. Let PVP enjoyers pvp, warts and all instead of forcing a system that punishes players for playing the game they want to when the PvE server already exists.

Thanks! I was just going to add my 2 cents to say this is definitely game breaking for a PvP server. The good old "/world This guy is camping me in Stonetalon, please help" or "/g Rogue on my behind in Hillsbrad. Come get em!" always seems to work well. I'm trying to bring Kor'Kron Enforcers for the hord on this server. If we do come back we will not stand for low level griefing and will deal with it swiftly. The guild hungers for WPvP! :twisted:

Yeah horrible idea, still dont understand why not just drop the forced warmode and make it a normal pvp server where you can be safe in capitals and low level zones.
Would not need any of these bandaid fixes

I like the "nowhere is safe" feeling warmode brings. I think it will make the PvP community tighter on this server as more cooperation is needed.
