No. Did you not read that other post?Harperhearts1 wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 9:41 am Finally trying to backup the claims about the majority being in favour of this change huh?
I agree instance boosting is less intrusive for players, it also was only viable via an exploit to drop group before mobs die. Exploiting is banned in the rules the same as it was on turtle.Grttadls wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 9:49 am I see no reason to allow open world boosting and change the way instance based boosting works as is. It’s less obtrusive to other players and still fast for leveling alts. Please allow both
I think we disagree on it being an exploit. I see it as a game mechanic given it was part of turtle wow for 7 years. Exploits to me are gold duping, item duping, etc.Kestrel wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 5:49 pmI agree instance boosting is less intrusive for players, it also was only viable via an exploit to drop group before mobs die. I did not use the best wording there, the top option is that it should stay the same way that it currently is. The bottom is that we should look into what mechanics we may be able to implement to dis-incentivize this type of open world boosting.Holydruid wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 11:32 amAllow mob tagging, but no multiboxing while mob tagging.Kestrel wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 7:08 am In light of the recent conversation around boosting, we would like to get some feedback regarding how the community feels about open world boosting in general. Any result of this poll is of course non-binding and just used as a way to gather information on the publics opinion.
So someone else should be ok to mobtag another person, but not himself. Problem solved
Also the choices on the poll are pretty unclear to me.
Is the top vote, mob tagging allowed or not allowed?
What are we leaving as is? The non boosting rule?
Can you clarity the choices? A lot of people are kinda confused in my guild on what means what.
This would not be related to this change as we are only talking about mechanics to prevent open world boosting. We are sure that there will be kinks to work out with any new mechanic but the intent of this pole is to gauge interest in a mechanic for this at all.Doaksie wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 11:37 am I briefly played on another realm where boosting was disabled and it created a lot of unexpected problems. There was one time we had a group for SFK and most players were 23-26 but when a 35 joined, nobody gained XP because they were just outside the level range.
I'd say leave it alone and let higher level players help the lowbies.
That would require a rule change and we are polling to see how people feel about a mechanic change.Cudie wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 11:37 am Agree with Holy. If two users are in the same guild, that are not multi boxing, 2 real users, doing mob tagging with 1-2 mob at a time, allow that to continue. If it gets shutdown in instances to prevent RMT with pulling loads of mobs, quitting group to get loads of mobs, have no issue with that. Even if there was a max amount of levels you can gain or it was limited only up to level 35, would be also good compromise
The "current" blanket ban you referred to has been lifted in favor of a mechanic change that patches up the exploit that turtle had in their group exp system.Xita wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 1:04 pm Question about the poll, is "Leave it how it is" Referring to pre all the rule changes or is it referring to the current blanket ban?
You think dropping group to funnel EXP was an intended mechanic by the turtle team? Then why nerf the EXP rather than just give it in full to all party members and sidestep the clunky group drop step?Hepallzx12 wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2026 6:05 pmI think we disagree on it being an exploit.
