Specifically, it’s about making items from old raids relevant in the current content as well.
Unfortunately, Twow only did this for one item, but it turned out to be so powerful that there was a real rush for it—“Band of Sulfuras.” You could upgrade this ring with 1x Sulfuron Ingot to a ring that was even worn by T3.5 mages.
My idea here is that there should also be a similar option for items in raids outside of MC (i.e., BWL, AQ40, Naxx, etc.).
This could be implemented either through a quest chain + item or just a single quest item. This would allow players to upgrade selected items from previous-tier raids, ensuring these items still feel “valuable” and useful later on.
E.g., upgrade option in BWL for Mageblade -> +15 spell damage
The upgrade isn’t necessarily meant to make an item from T1 content completely comparable to one from T2 content (or maybe it is), but rather to bring the stats in line with them.
I’d love to see something like this for crafted items as well, but that’s a different topic
PS: sorry in case someone else posted this idea already
