Patch notes for the Moonwhipser Coast release (a day late)

Moonwhipser Coast released.

Warmode will now prevent the participant from showing up in /who for the opposing faction on all realms.

Warmode EXP bonus buffed to 15%

Added cloth gear to PvP vendors

Teir 2 gear exchange quests should* now be available and working

Shop skins are now items and able to be toggled on/off. They will (in the next patch) be integrated into your spellbook similar to glyphs

After being discovered by this poor hardcore player, we fixed an issue with how multi damage type weapons are handled by the core engine. You will now find your weapons that deal more than one type of damage show up separately in combat logs. This will have changes on the balance/behavior of some weapons and is subject to being reverted/adjusted (as are all things)

Also found and fixed a bug with the same custom boss that made it so that critical hits of fire spells would not remove the shield.

Fixed issue (due to honor being an unsigned int) of large quantities of honor being generated from a DK when at zero honor (and of course all honor/items were reverted as needed while this was active)

Battlelord title now properly granted when dinging 60 on HC while Warmode is active

Fix issues around titles granted when transferring from HC while alive

Added missing invisible X-Mog items

Added the JC specialization relearn quests for switching specializations

The Great Iqa'quluk is now in the game, happy fishing!

Restocking for Vacation, Don't tell the Others, and Oglethorbe's Scientific Hunger all added as well

Why did this patch mess with my install and now I can't toggle 2k (2560 x 1440p). Stuck in 1080p.

The launcher previously was not properly detecting the main monitor windows sets and that was causing this issue for most players.

If you need to manually adjust which monitor it detects and uses you can edit the value in the VMMFix_preferred_monitor.txt file

To follow up on the warmode exp increase. If the population is not increasing on the pvp server you can consider making warmode a permanent mode with 20% exp bonus on the pve server and just merge the pvp server with the pve server. Might be a better solution then just splitting the population. Seems like the pvp server is not really thriving at this moment.

You actually create a new home on the pve server for the pvp players with this.

I don't want to play on a Xfaction server, I prefer World Of WARCRAFT or World Of FRIENDSHIP :P

If they combine the server I'll quite for sure...

What PVP players want in general?
Obviously we want to play PVP (open world small fights, bgs, arenas, open world big fights, server events).
Some players enjoy leveling PVP, but due to it's unbalanced nature most players just want to hit 60 and play PVP there. On lvl 60 every class got full set of talents and abilities, and also PVP sets do equalize players. And you got no advantages and disadvantages of PVPing vs higher/lower lvl player.
Also most PVP players hate when they are forced to play PVE to be able to play PVP. This includes both 'gearing up in PVE to be competitive in PVP' and 'doing 3-4 weeks of solo leveling on quests and mobs to be able to play competitive PVP on lvl 60'.

Reasons of low pop on the PVP server
I firmly believe that the reasons of low population of the PVP server are:
- old game client
- very long solo leveling process for PVP-minded players
- harsh environment for PVE-minded players (they will never join this server cause they afraid of being ganked)
- low population of the server (I know many ppl asking for server pop on daily basis - they wait for it to be more to decide to join). As soon as pop grows, more players will decide to join.

What to do with it?
We cannot do much about the old game client. There are multiple mods and addons that make the life better, and the launcher will eventually be fixed fully to ease the process of modifying the client.
We don't really want PVE-minded players to join the PVP server en masse. They have their specialized PVE server, they should play there.
But we can shorten the process of leveling to 60 for the PVP-minded players. For those who still want longer leveling there are multiple challenges to take. For those who mainly play for the leveling there is even a separate HC server. But as soon as the leveling process will become short enough to take 2 weeks for a normal player, PVP players will start coming to the server. Turtle team got it well with TA eventually, they increased the xp rates to x2 and it was enough for population to grow.
As soon as the fact of increased xp rates will become known to the wow pvp community, more players will join, server pop will grow, and those who hesitated to join cause of low pop will start joining too.

The intended Blizzlike behavior is for this extra damage to be added to the weapon's normal damage (usually physical) and absorbed when a specific elemental barrier is present. You can read more about this in the following link: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=13 ... id=3215931
