Please create an option for people who do not want to make a "true hc vow."

I have an HC 60 Warlock, and to be honest, I don't really like Hardcore. It's common to have to wait days just to get some minor materials, PvP content is limited, and the open world is dead. Most of all, I hate the level 60 cowards in HC who refuse to do anything even slightly dangerous.

So I was planning to complete the Inferno quests, grab the trinket, and just go DIP. But then, right today, I heard some shocking patch news.

They say they're blocking you from moving to the Normal Realm if you do the Inferno quests. I wanted to get the Stam+44 trinket through the Inferno quests and then do PvP.

It's not bad to get that kind of benefit only for those who complete a hard challenge, right? I thought that was pretty cool in Octo, so I don't understand why they removed that option.

The point is that you should not be able to grab the giga stamina item and then cease being mortal. This item was NEVER available to immortals on turtle, it was exclusively a benefit for immortals to give them a bit more leeway when starting raids.

That's just your opinion. I made the HC 60 characters just for that one thing.

I don't understand what you mean. If the Immortals can use it at the start of the raid, doesn't that just mean they can use it anyway?

Let me clear up some confusion
Immortal = reached 60 as HC, will no longer permanently die when killed. On Turtle this was automatic upon reaching 60, here you can attain this status by transferring to the normal server. There are different titles here for doing this while either alive or dead, but in both cases your character is now immortal and does not experience permadeath. Note that Octo's "Inferno" is just a title for having reached 60, died, and gone through the dark portal. I am not referring to the simple title, but what I will explain next.

The Mysterious Mailbox Questline is originally for Turtle's version of Inferno
Turtle's Inferno = remains with the peril of hardcore permadeath, even at 60. On turtle you had to complete the questline in the last few levels leading up to 60.

As part of going Inferno on turtle, you were granted an item with a massive amount of stamina on it, to make it so that your first steps into a raid had a little more leeway to use your "get out" last resort items to not die.

At no point was this item ever given to players for whom death was not permanent, for the obvious reasons of why you seem to want it. Hence it being reintroduced with and tied to the "True Hardcore Vow."

"hardcore" was not designed properly. back in the launch of classic in 2019, talk was going around of making the game harder. the devs took this and spun it around and turned their subverting expectations machine up to 11 and created "hardcore" mode where instead of the game being harder its now a sadistic self destructive pain olympics where players think they are playing hard core but the reality is some bald soy boy "came up" with the idea of just obliterating all your progress if you die because thats hard right? thats whos in charge of blizzard btw, people who think like that. anyways, everyone knows deleting your character when you die is absolutely retarded beyond retarded. what they should have done is designed a server where you lose experience when you die (but dont de-level) or you drop loot (all, some, all non soulbound, and/or/ect) or both, or tuned up raids, or anything really. but "hardcore" permadeath is such cancerous aids gameplay, and people just play it anyways lol.

I used to be in a "permadeath" guild back on DDO before any HC stuff existed. People came up with it independently of any blizzard dev.
If you want to play with XP loss on death, do the Slow And Steady challenge.

i played ddo since 2007, you know the tukaw build? yeah i used to raid with him. vault of night, shroud, vod, tod, dude would basically solo tod for us, that was right before epic levels before he disappeared. but i was there before monks, before drow. permadeath is still some daft zoomer concept. if you like erasing your days/months ect of hard work because its "fun" yeah uhhhhhhh ok. anyways a exp penalty would be cooler.
