Offhands that can block attacks

Greetings everyone;

I just wanted to share my thoughts on a new kind of weapon/shield hybrid, kind of like a Pata Sword (Gauntlet sword), it doesn't need to only fist weapons, it can be also shields or any other offhand (even orbs or other misc items XD).

The concept is: Make these items able to block only if used in the off/hand slot (or make them off-hand only), and have them function like both a weapon and a shield (with SIGNIFICANTLY reduced stats of course), here is an example:

Regular lvl 20 shield:
400 armor
9 block

"Offensive" lvl 20 shield
100 armor
2 block
5-10 damage (or maybe inherent damage reflection/attack automatically, either on block or on being hit)

"Defensive" lvl 20 sword
5-10 damage (lets say, 50% of regular one hand sword)
2 block

So the character attacks like regular dual wield and can also block, but the amount blocked and damage dealt are reduced.

Honestly a set of off-hand daggers with lower dmg but that drastically boost the parry chance and maybe have block damage would be pretty baller to fit the whole parry-dagger archetype.
