To the people who want progression slowed-- why?

I'm not trying to spam the forums about this topic but I'm genuinely curious what the argument is in favor of slowing progression.

The way I see it is there are no actual concrete negative aspects of the original roadmap, or even one that would be slightly faster than the original roadmap. Delaying it however will ensure that the economy continues to feel as broken as it has, and I'm pretty positive it'll lead to at least some people quitting out of boredom. There's not much to do end game wise, and there's not much point in farming as there isn't really a demand for most materials because there's only one real raid out at the moment-- and lets be real-- you don't need to be using full consumes or have peak Enchantments on all your gear to clear MC.

I'm pretty discouraged about the roadmap update and I think I might be less frustrated if I could at least understand the opposing argument so please help me understand it guys. :)

You can see how this plays out with faster phases, especially PvP-wise, it happened before on Turtles Tel'Abim (PvP). People were saying things like "give me a fresh server, everyone's so far ahead I don't want to spend months gearing up just to lose to overpowered players." New players end up not wanting to join because the progression gap feels too big.

There are good and bad sides to both approaches, but I think Octo's phase pacing makes sense for where the server is at right now. It gives newer players some breathing room to casually catch up before jumping back in, and it gives the devs a bit of a breather after all the work they've put in.

Ok but to me all that boils down to is ego. I don't think development decisions should be based off of peoples ego. I need to hear actual concrete reasons, not "I want a server first title!".

The whole "everyone's so far ahead" thing boggles my mind. I never compared myself or my guild to other guilds on Nord. One of the things I loved about Turtle WoW is that it had all of that progress opened up. I've had just about enough of arbitrary timegating nonsense from Blizzard. I don't need it on my private servers for 20 year old content... No one *needs* it. That's my issue. You people can play the game as slowly as you want. No one is stopping you-- but you people want to stop me from playing it how I want. That is hypocritical, selfish, and frankly weird.

I don't believe that the 'slow progression down' crowd are making any arguments beyond selfish petty egotistical nonsense. They want to be ahead of the curve. They want server first titles. And for them to have a chance at that they need the game to be slowed down to a snails pace. They need a twenty year old game slowed down to a snails pace. They need to negatively impact the rest of the playerbase, the economy, and the server as a whole just so that they can feel relevant. To me that is gross and selfish behavior.

Personally i am fine with either but overal i think the newest roadmap is nice and orderly, the previous one was a bit messy with Emerald Sactum and Timbermaw hold mixed in with Bwl and Aq releases.

Better like this imo with gradual progression imo.

I never cared all that much how much content was out myself though i can't disagree that it's a bit slow with just MC and Ony as major raids. But gives me time to lvl alts so shrugs.

My guild isnt even raid ready yet, i am stuck pugging for now. So this will give us more time to get sorted properly before Bwl release. Pretty sure that goes for a lot of guilds on the server.

Agree that it wouldnt have hurt if ZG and BWL came out a bit faster, but new people likely dont feel the same way. And quite a few people on the server is taking their time lvling, nothing wrong with that imo.

Of course limits to catering to people who have yet joined the server or who wont be 60 in weeks. But i don't think the current roadmap is anything extreme, relatively standard really.

Heck i agree that a fully released server is a lot of fun too, but people do love fresh.
Like this i feel its more chance of the server growing than if they rushed content. Time will tell if i'm right about that or not.

i will note that i was never part of any group that pushed for slower progression as it is a bit whatever to me, but i kind of like it like this. No stress with anything, it's chill.
