That's a non-argument — mages & prot paladins get a free pass. Warriors & ferals had the advantage of dungeon mob tagging to help levelers.
Yes I did have to fight you — there's literally a thread spanning 21 pages and I have multiple screenshots of the Y'shaarj rule set before and after that thread.
Many the original PvE server players were PvP sever players ; you don't know this because you're disconnected from us. We know it because we're a community that has been together long enough on Tel'Abim to know each other.
The obvious reasons being what, gear, gold? A lot of people said they were ready to have their characters locked until transfers could open so as to not have any advantage or even transfer naked without gold — all to avoid the leveling grind.
What you call "nerfing an exploit" is something that's been part of WoW since the beta & still exists on retail. It is not an exploit and it's actually hard to pull off since the mobs can't be dealt damage to until the lower level character tags them — hence the term mobtagging — meaning the lower level character will die if done incorrectly.
All in all, this shows that you very much do not understand that we do not want to grind levels. People can opt-in to certain things to make their experience "harder" but most people on the PvP server do not want that and never asked for it.
You have stated yourselves you are HC players — keep your HC ideas to yourselves. We are Tel'Abim or Nordaanar or Ambershire players and we want our game a certain way ; you've already made your own HC servers.
The forums will be in uproar for days and the discord is already a damn hot mess of people basically calling to guillotine you folks.
Please try to condense your quotes it gets long.
The Y'Shaarj ruleset initially was more broad than we intended there was not "fight" to allow warlock summoning.
I don't doubt that some of our early adopters were PvP players. They signed up for an extremely early beta and that is what they got. The obvious reason was the head start everyone would get, the rampant ganking of fresh accounts by transferred players, and the injections of gear into an economy that has not even killed Onyxia yet.
If you think that right clicking the portrait and dropping group mid combat is an intended mechanic and not an exploit then clearly we are not going to get anywhere with that part of this conversation. Agree to disagree.
I do understand that you don't want to grind levels, I understand the very very well. Would you support us just selling level 60 boosts? What is the downside by your logic?
This is not a HC idea this is a basic game design idea, BG's should not award 50% more exp than any other source. You can keep ignoring this but it isn't helping your point.
The forums have been in an uproar before. There were times when the turtle forums were even worse with many of their changes. People can say what they want here and we will do our best to respond and explain our reasoning. You don't have to agree, but to ignore it and side step it with "But we want more EXP!" is not going to be productive or change anyone's mind.
If you think all EXP should be buffed then say that, but don't sit here and tell the community that you think BGs award 50% more EXP than any other source.
