The core of this change is that BG's should not give more than double (I had my numbers mixed up earlier) the EXP per hour that other forms of leveling give. That is a claim that does hold water. That is not a straw man. That is the core of this decision. If you disagree with that then say so.
You clearly haven't read a single thing I've said; I've explicitly stated that you've removed dungeon tagging which was the easiest way to help guildies level to 60 more so because on the PvP server we cannot mob tag outside... very rules for thee but not for me relative to PvE/PvP server balance — that we had to argue for the return of summons/trading alts specifically on the PvP server — that you refuse to make XP x2 for the PvP server and now, this!
The BG XP nerf for the PvP server is yet another nail in the coffin.
PvP players don't quest unless it gives a PvP advantage. PvP players don't raid unless it gives a PvP advantage.
You are confusing and conflating PvE and PvP server players in these responses and in general and unilaterally applying changes to both servers.
Devs implementing ideas without consent and without considering the servers themselves has seemingly been a long standing shortcoming of the dev team.
I think you are putting a lot of things into what a PvP server is and isn't. Are you actually assuming that all/the vast majority of players on PvP servers are only playing the server to play BG's? The core distinction between a PvP and a PvE server is that world PvP is enabled at all times on the PvP server, in game meaning that the faction war is alive. That's it. That's the entire difference between the two server types. That is also the reason many players pick PvP servers. Not to spend all their time in BG's, but because the world is much more intertwined.
Also out of curiosity, why can't the PvP server tag mobs outside?
I didn't explain that clearly enough and that's on me: on PvE servers you can both in dungeon boost and mobtag your own alts outside due to there being no multiboxing restriction from the PvP server status. On the PvP server for PvP reasons we're not allowed to multibox which makes leveling alts in dungeons via mob tagging our equivalent ; the devs removed that option. We're several hundred/thousand xp short of what it was and that hurts for both leveling alts and helping friends. The PvP server already has a population issue and the dev changes constantly make it worse.
Most PvP players don't BG all day but some do. What I said is that we raid to have PvP advantages — not exclusively for BGs ; we fight in capitals, at world bosses, in front of dungeons/raids and we enjoy that part of the game — there are tons of screenshots in the PvP discord all about who wiped who.
<ERROR> (#1 horde raid guild) assisted by <KKE> (biggest horde PvP guild) and other guilds had a weekly thursday K40 bridge fight with <Sons of Mukla> (~#1 alliance raid guild) assisted by <Watch Yourself> (biggest alliance PvP guild) and it was damn fun!
Getting people together to raid is the easiest way to create events that yield both loot and honor and everyone of course wants some gear progression and some advantage to levy.
Of course I know I'm not speaking for everyone and I don't assume to be doing so but what I do know from exchanges with the player base, is that most want things to be as they were on Tel'Abim with new events the devs can introduce for content !
