Paladins are busted too, it is known. This is what happens when you buff an already strong PVP class and make it PVE viable without nerfing anything, it just becomes OP.

I think that it's from the PVE server. We haven't got that many paladins on the PVP server.
And ye, I can agree that paladins may be too strong (at least retri paladins in good gear), but the shamans are even more OP.
If you feel that paladins should be nerfed, just make another thread and put your screenshots there. This one is about shamans (cause I play on alliance side, so OP shamans are my pain)

If you do decide to post pictures, please do so with the understanding that posting BG rosters doesnt mean shit about balance

It does actually.
On the PVP server with a very low population horde players decided to lvl so many shamans that they sometimes are 8 per bg.
It tells a lot about the classes balance, and what those players really consider as the most OP pick. Not their words, but the real data.

Meanwhile in reality Paladins out number Shamans nearly 2:1 lol. Thats actual "real data" by the way... Not your anecdotal experiences.

Do not bring your PvE server with windfury for Retpals into a PvP discussion.

Retpals profit more than any other class from windfury and nearly 800 of your 2500 lvl 60's are humans — of course Paladins will be over represented on the PvE server especially if they can have shamans with them. That's just simple logic but it has apparently eluded you.

Don't bring up your PvE server numbers because you live in a different reality than ours.

R10 shaman on N'zoth here. We are tanky because the PVP set gives us 1k+ more HP than T1 gear. I run 1h+shield just so I have a chance of surviving a bit longer against warrs/pallies/rogues/hunter pets, but if I get kited or burst I am probably dead.

Good flag runners are impossible for me to catch on WSG. If I try to run, I have almost no way of escaping CC outside of trinket. If I get kited in mid, I am probably dead 9/10 times.

Overall, against equally geared players, I don't feel particularly OP. If you, as a caster or leather wearer, let me get into melee range of you, yes it's going to hurt.

Last point: on turtle, the devs ONLY experience with shamans was in PVP (since they all played pallies), and thus a lot of shitty changes made to PVE gearing, talents, etc. were made from the perspective of PVP encounters. Please, PLEASE don't repeat the same bullshit here. Yes, a shaman might kill you once in a while, it's not the end of the world.

Ok guys i figured out the miscomunication here.
PvE realm has population 5-10 larger than PvP realm and pala to sham ratio nearly 2:1 (17% of active 60 vs 9%).
I understand that PvP realm suffers from those 20 shamans vs 200 all online (as op proves 10% online).
I may be wrong but PvP realm isnt any sample for any conclusions.
Paladins are freaking op and on PvE realm there's huge over-population of palas (you see this on every BG).
Moreover patch 1.18 vs 1.17 buffed palas while heavily nerfed shamans.
I could also mention enormous bm hunters dmg which doesn't come from good items.
