Just because the ownership uses anonymous techniques to host to avoid being shut down and saved a project from completely vanishing off the internet does not mean its fraud or malware, if it was sketchy it would have been known by the community by now. Obviously you can assume things, but it would be very well known by now by the community that it is bogus by now. Blizzard wants you to think its a trojan, its just a client with wow on it though.

There are multiple projects working on restoring TurtleWoW, not just Octo
Launcher is already open source, so who cares what the talking cat is saying???
Nevertheless, community will carefully monitor Octo. We love OctoDevs for their work and dedication, but we are not naive...

Hello dear community! I am not IT security specialist, just a simple guy who decided to participate in testing of this new and really great project, after TWow end..
I am running the game now on Windows 10 with it's native security updates.
While installing the game and it's mods via Octo Launcher I was several times warned by Windows security that some files had severe 'trojan' threats. Especially it was about one of built-in addons like 'vanillaFixes'.
Could I get any opinions about this and how to deal with that? Is it true or false detection? Or maybe it's just the matter of trust for today?

Brother ask yourself don't you think there are easier ways to get your malware into people's computers than to pay for server hosting that can host 500+ concurrent players out of pocket. Yeah, contrary to popular belief, server hosting isn't free. Plus the developers are actively bugfixing every day. If that's still not enough, the launcher is open-source so you can inspect and fork it yourself if you want. You could even connect to the server with a TWoW client by just changing realmlist. Windows Defender does give false positives, though, but this isn't exclusive to the OctoWoW launcher, it's also Ascension, it's also Turtle WoW launcher itself... Malware and scam allegation fearmongering is so fucking laughable can't wait to see all these content creators and clickbaiters eat their words.
