Pet AOE immunity

currently pets only recieve some 5%-10% damage from aoe sources. Im guessing this was added later in twow lifespan to combat massive aoe from endgame geared people.

Currently its unneccessary and makes pets extremely tanky. It also completely breaks certain spells in pvp, like sweeping strikes, because it effectively makes one of the swings hit for 40 damage on a whirlwind.

It is quite necessary in PvE. In fact, many boss attacks still bypass it such as some AoE DoTs.

If your issue is with PvP specifically, then ask for the dampening effect to be modified accordingly for hunters and their pets.

Maybe then the pet immunity to AOE should be a buff that's applied in raids? And not something that's a blanket buff.

This was clearly designed for PvE, just like all the other crap from the TW developers that hinders PvP players.

If you're within Sweeping Strikes range, can you just target the pet and cleave onto the player?

That doesn't fix the issue. What if you have two players and a pet in melee range trying to cleave the palyers for example. The pet will just eat sweeping charges like its candy.

In PvP we have dampening already, just make Avoidance only work from Mobs.

What if instead the hunter/warlock players could manage their pets in PVE instead of relying on devs to hold their hand?

Like, if you don't want your pet to die, don't send him into aoe?

Its a hyperbole but your suggestion of focusing pets in pvp and praying that sweep hits a relevant target is equally ridiculous.

Dampening does not work for pets, and they do not share resilience from the player. That's why hunter pets are good now, but will fall behind in the later phases - they will be easily oneshotted by anyone.
The whole dampening and resilience systems need to be reworked, including pets

None of that is the topic. The pet aoe immunity was added late into twow to help in PVE and it should absolutely be a PVE only buff.

It has no place in pvp/world.

This comment just shows you have not played hunter in PvE.

Pets will fall off later on. Ask the devs to modify the dampening now instead of complaining over something that has existed in WoW since its first expansion in 2007.
