No one gives a shit about leveling experience on pvp server, keep that shit for PVE server, we want good competative pvp matches and lots of em.
I disagree, I am living proof that this statement is objectively wrong. I believe the people that wants the instant 60 experience, are the people that migrated from TurtleWoW and expected the same exact experience on a fresh beta server, which blows my mind. This didn't happen within the first week, so now these people can't wait for the server to grow organically, and thus want higher xp rates.
I think PvP matches are fine and all, but I've always played on PvP server because of these much more immersive worlds it present, where there is a faction war that can be felt, and that I spontaneously can choose to be a part of in the open world.

No one has asked for instant 60 — at any moment in any thread.

The only people who have brought this argument forward is your crowd — you ; Defiant ; Joyson etc.

I dont want instant 60, I want 2x xp. Stop mischaracterizing my opinion.

Sorry it was a poorly worded paraphrase, I should have been more clear. But what I gather is that you want a leveling experience that is insignficant and resolved as quickly as possible. That probably more precise

That would be insta 60 wich isnt what we are askinf for, we are asking for a reasonable time investment to 60 for people that dont care for the pre 60 content, a month for 60 seems high entry.

I want 2x xp so it doesnt feel like I can only play wow or ill fall behind the pack and miss out on all the group activities with my guild, raiding and BGs in particular. I dont think it's reasonable for me to have to put so much time into leveling when that content is designed to prepare you for the end game. Ive done it already elsewhere and this server is just a copy of twow so it's nothing new and thus not very exciting compared to the end game. I joined TA specifically for 2x xp because I know how time consuming it is. And im here right now because of my guild, and really for no other reason. I'd be playing Farever, autobattlers and TCGs otherwise.

Edit: fwiw I loved leveling on epoch at 1x because of all the new content and playing a new class, but honestly it was too slow for me and a large portion of my exp was BGs, which were incidentally popping because i was no lifing to stay in that group.

While you may be a bit behind, most guilds in classic, raid most raids for quite a while, and I would think it's the same here. I started Twow not long before it was shut down, and then people were still making MC/Onyxia raid groups. Given that this server does not get shutdown and continues to grow, I'd expect that a year from now, people spending a month to get to 60 will not truly be behind, as guilds and other people will still be raiding MC/Onyxia and so forth.

I don't agree with this. I don't agree that the entire leveling experience is designed to prepare you for the endgame. I think it might be a side effect, but the leveling experience is about telling a story and exploring a fantastic world environment, meeting people, ganking people and so forth. But I can see that if you install an addon that GPS's you from level 1 to level 60 without you having to make any actual choice on where you're going (not that I'm assuming you level like this) leveling seems quite boring, much like playing cookie clicker or something. But given time to explore both the old game and the new zones, actually reading all the quests you get and try to gain a greater overview of the stories being told, while still being able to have the casual fun of challenging yourself on killing elites solo, pulling big pulls in groups, stalking players, ganking them over and over. This is the kind of stuff that the leveling experience is designed for, the way I see it.

I do get that people who recently leveled on TurtleWoW and had a 60 character where they liked the endgame (PvP) gameplay want to get swiftly to 60, and want to mirror that experience here. But I find it hard to understand why (and I know you are probably not a representative of this) doesn't take the time and wait it out. The server seems to be growing, and perhaps in a few months, there will be enough 60´s and players to get this experience back. But expecting the same experience on a beta server that has been released for roughly a month, just seems as having the wrong expectations.

Nope.

The stories of World of Warcaft are explicitly detailed in Warcaft 1-2-3 and several books (6) which predate WoW by quite a bit.

There's no "story to be told" other than the Onyxia questline. MC was rushed because Blizzard didn't imagine for a second that so many hardcore EQ/T4C/DAOC players would reach 60 and be content starved after defeating the only available raid boss.

All of the pulls, challenging yourself, stalking other players, ganking etc that you mention can be done level 60 —more enjoyably— due to a more even playing field. The game was not imagined to be played at lower levels due to class discrepancy.
Riddle me this, why are 99% of twinks rogues? Because they have an overwhelming early game spell and stat direction advantage that other classes can only catch up to much later in the game through talents, late game spells and higher levels of gear.

That's how PvP works.

On the growing server side... I've been taking regular screenshots of the census, and will be using them soon enough, because they make a very strong statistical argument that the PvP server growth is stagnating, and that's partially due to the multiple changes that unfairly impact us more than the PvE server, on top of the outright lie about transfers becoming available, which is one of the reasons many of us leveled a character on the PvE realm and helped with it's initial growth and success.

Having to level a second level 60 character —I'm 60 and have cleared MC/Ony alliance first on the PvP server— after being lied to isn't pleasant. More so after doing it on Epoch after Turtle closed because trust with Octowow was limited and rightfully so.

Most players arguing for faster XP here are level 60 and very well geared; more than many PvE server players with twice our /played.
We're arguing for the rest of the players.
We're arguing for those who have yet to come back.
We're arguing for those who are faced with yet another x1 grind after having been an Epoch refugee or/and lied to about transfers from the PvE server and wonder if it's worth it despite wanting to play with their friends — who are not a minority.

We're arguing for a healthy server that people can eventually call home.

With the 15 of August release of RavenCraft a choice is going to have to be made rapidly.
If their claims about having a real 1.18.1 server and not some copycat version are true — if they truly are unnamed Twow devs and not simply players like Kestrel and the rest of the Octowow team... Octowow will have serious competition and one of the only ways to secure a strong community and prevent flight is character imprinting — you think people get attached to their tedious 10th lvl 40 rogue? No.

People care about their geared level 60 they raid with their friends and guildmates with and this is far more true about PvP server players.

There's a hardcore server available if leveling is what you enjoy — there's the s&s challenge as well and various other things you can do like opt to not rest in an inn.

PvP server players for the most part want an even playing field. We reject cross faction exactly for that reason, as certain classes have much more to gain than others from the buffs shamans and paladins bring to the table.

All in all, we're just asking for a healthy server and the 2x XP would fix many of the issues that Octowow has created from poor decision making within the span of barely 40 days.

Once again u fail to figure out ur talking to people that already hit 60. Ur arguments make 0 sense.

Double experience is not what I would call swift. The more casual players in our guild are approaching level 60 after over a month of gameplay. I understand that not everyone wants to play the same way, but what I see happening is 2x supporters explaining why they want to be able to approach endgame faster, and the opposition saying it's stupid that they should want this. The irony here is no 2x enjoyer is trying to create a server where players who want to take their time and level aren't welcome, but the inverse seems to be true on the other side.

On the topic of leveling being a stepping stone for the end game, i don't see how it can be another way: as you progress in levels, you unlock new abilities, new talents, and start to get gear that synergizes with your gameplan. At level 60 there is nothing left for your character to learn; all you do is acquire better gear by taking down the biggest threats available in the game, content which mostly requires you to be 48-60 to provide any value to the party. The new dungeons are great but you don't have to do them and that freedom is great. I don't see what slowing it down does for a server i imagined was catering to people interested in max level raiding and pvp. If it wasn't, i'm under the impression that's what a lot of people want. To echo the room, most of us are in the end game already, but we also spend a lot of our free time playing, and not everyone can do that. They want those people to be able to BG/raid with the guild yesterday.
