Craftable Shields [actual recipe suggestions]

Currently there is a dearth of craftable shields. As far as I know, there is literally only the blast shield from goblin starting zone, and then a level 60 epic shield added to BS from turtle wow and the engineering disk. This is not only thematically strange, but also means that anyone doing the craftmaster challenge basically can’t use shields.

This has been suggested before, but I went ahead and made actual potential items along with recipes and skill levels so that devs don’t have to spend too much time themselves. All of them are based on existing blacksmithing recipes and the have equivalent stats of other shields their level. None of these are overpowered, and I erred on the side of making them weaker and even slightly expensive so it doesn’t affect balance, it just gives crafters more options.

Survival Shields

Placeholder for now, I think it’d make sense to have some basic wooden shields craftable with survival, but this is less urgent. I’ll design some if people think it’d be interesting.

Good proposal, shields are really underrepresented and it's super fun to craft your own gear.

Love it, simple shields, the crafting materials required are just that tiny bit out of the way where you have to go and seek them out.
The values are onkey and the truesilver keeps the theme of other truesilver items providing some sort of healing.

I would personally love to see more options fit for casters, but those shields are a great suggestion

Currently, the only shield that can be crafted is the Force-reactive Disc (lvl 60) by Engineers.

With all the recipes and whole professions that have been added, it is difficult to understand why there has not been a single shield among them. After the addition of Jewelcrafting and expanded Survival professions, shields are literally the ONLY item type that cannot be crafted before level 60 on OctoWoW whatsoever.

Doing a Wandering Craftmaster challenge currently dooms you to not use a shield until level 60, which essentially renders the tanking role for shamans, paladins, and (to a degree) warriors unviable or at the very least much less functional.

Please add three or four green or blue shields across the level range to Engineering and/or Blacksmithing (or possibly wooden bucklers to Survival or even some of those Troll-style leather shields to Leatherworking).
