Scutty, what exactly setup do you have? I use M1 Mac and I've tried Fusion per your suggestion. As Fusion doesn't support Vulkan, I tried to turn-off the Vulkan in the OctoLauncher to use DirectX but I am getting black screen on any 3D models. When I turn-off graphic acceleration all works flawlessly except the performance is terrible. I'd like to understand how you made it working and if you used any special procedure.

Oh, so I actually got it working. The key is:
1. Switch off the Vulkan in the launcher (in Mods) as VMWare Fusion doesn't support Vulkan
2. Install DirectX9
3. When you log-in, you will have black screen. Go to settings and set in Display following settings: 24/24 + 1× multisample

After applying, the game suddenly renders correctly and I can play.

I must say using the WoWSilicon is so seamless. I have one question for fellow MacOS gamers though. How do you keep the game updated? Since CrossOver is paid, I won't use it for the launcher. I tried using Wine but unsuccessfully. So for now, to keep game updated, I spawn VM with Fusion, launch OctoLauncher there, patch the game and play it using WoWSilicon. Does anybody has any better way to do this?

There are various options that became available over the years, but a bunch of these aren't current anymore.

The best option, frankly, is using https://github.com/Sikarugir-App/Sikarugir.

Honorable mentions:
- homebrew (https://brew.sh/) and installing wine + winetricks that way
- https://www.playonmac.com/en/
- Winebottler used to be one method, but I think it still relies on wine 4.x (which is far too old for something like this)

Everything in the honorable mentions is old as balls at this point, though.

Ah, right, and I forgot: https://wineformac.org/#

Great website/resource for reference and more information. Good luck, folks.

Sikarugir was the first thing I tried as I use it to play other games like Detroit: Become human, but sadly OctoLauncher will never launch there. If you manage to make it work let me know. I might try again and play more with it.
