Why do you install every Mods forcefully with today´s updates? It installs vanillafixes, nampower, superwowhook and what not AGAINST MY WILL... Like what the fuck. It practically bricked my game - I was playing perfectly fine with stable 180 FPS without ANY Mod whatsoever. After forcefully installing that against my will with todays updates you bricked my game to 60-90 FPS at best. I have a backup folder of the whole directory and when I start the old version I still have my 180FPS. You basically lost me as a player here and I will make sure that when my RL Friends stop playing on Ascension that they don´t come here to a server where such shady practices are at play.

These are reputable mods that we included in the client torrent, they can be enabled and disabled in the launcher.
Nothing was installed against your will they are simple files

Tbh there is a problem with these dlls, they seem to be downloaded forcefully.
For example SuperWowHook.dll: It automatically downloads the newest 2.x version and replaces the old 1.5 one.
The problem is that some of the newest additions in the 2.x version replace nampowers functionality, so I prefer staying with the old Superwow version. I enabled the checkbox to not update SuperWowHook.dll previously, but it still updated the version for me today.

Also about the new launcher and the patch, repeating it in this thread, as it seems more appropriate:
I deleted all files from patch-1.mpq to patch-5.mpq
I seem to be able to download only patch-3.pmq, the other files stay with 0 size, and I receive a repeating error in the launcher that update is available and the download is incomplete

Archers handling of this situation is absolutely pathetic. We have multiple people confirming that the latest update automatically downloads client modifications.

His answer:" Nah-ah, they don´t.

I understand that he as a so called "Developer" is at fault here and instead of trying adhere to community feedback and resolve this issue to just deny and ignore it feels weird to say the least.

He acts like a woman that has been caught cheating and denys the allegetions when there is clear evidence. I can upload an uncut video to Youtube demonstrating this on a clean install for Captain `Nothing bad happend, move along, nothing to see´ aka Archer.

Pathetic, absolutely pathetic and unprofessional and paints a very dark picture of the person behind the nickname.

You clearly are very technically challenged and angry. From the moment of your first comment you were flying off the handle with rage. I never denied the files were downloaded I denied as you put it "installed" which they are not. You can simply disable the mods in the launcher. No need to be bringing up women and brown people in your posts as some sort of negative you weirdo.

Thank you for your hard work, and it is working fine on my end and I am using reforged, having some minor (constant but tolerable) memory access violation crashes, but its my choice to use that.

The only thing that bugs is the "updated raid visuals" but only on the reforged (yes with renamed patches) version, I have normal and it works fine.


Update times are annoying, its not the first time this happened, but its part of the process.

I'd also remind everyone that you're playing for free lol, it may be frustrating to have to solve some technical issues but you can search/post them if they're that annoying, and should really reconsider that you're playing a beloved version of the game for free, with dedicated people behind it fixing bugs at it too.

Anyway, mostly wanted to give you a positive feedback amidst a lot of negativity.

Yeah, wise. In fact speed of fixing incredible and staying in touch with players here. I have something to compare it to (for example "small indie studio" Riot) and guys here is much more community oriented. Bunch of players using dif mods and addons, which of course will have problem with update and it's our choice after all. Archer for sure doing great job today. Joining to your thanks.

While it's nice to see that client improvements are being rolled out, I'm consistently getting various errors when the launcher attempts to update. At first I thought it was only due to capacity as it's fair to assume the update servers would be getting pummeled by everyone attempting to connect simultaneously, but I see the following error as well:
