Auto-loot is enabled whether the option is checked in the launcher or not.
I have tried a WDB and WTF deletion. I have tried switching the option on in the launcher to see if it does the opposite (it does not). I have tried a completely fresh install after purging any and all elements of the game from all my drives. Barring the mailbox tweak, I have no mods installed at all.

Perhaps more critical, I am consistently getting this and a crash to desktop as well whenever I try to open my professions:
No mods installed - also, this is a completely clean installation from scratch, as mentioned above. Launcher also complains about UnitXP_SP3.dll being stopped by my antivirus every time it is launched despite me pressing "allow through antivirus", over and over and there being an explicit exception made for the trojan flagged file in windows defender as an allowed threat.
None of these issues existed prior to the launcher update.

Likely caused by superwow being forced atm. Edit: This is me assuming tho, not entirely sure since i always use it. But seems like it to me.
Normally you would just need the super API addon to fix it tho that seems a bit broken too right now.
However: I do get normal shift looting from mobs when i set superwow API on *shift to toggle off*
(should have been the *on* setting doing this).
I can't get it to work on herbs so they are manual looting now.
Most other settings on it turn into auto loot for me, and none seem to do what they say they should do right now lol.
But yeah superAPI is still probably what you want for a partial fix right now.
It's somewhat frustrating but i can live with this for now.

As far as I understand, there is no answer to the question of whether they are actually working on this.
