Upgraded the wow.exe binary to support an expanded quest log of 25 with some clever techniques. They said it couldn't be done!

Evidently it can't be, because you bricked my, and several other people's game.
Edit: fixed it by disabling all the malware under the "mods" section that were installed on my device without me being informed.

I'd like to reinforce the positive feedback and say there are plenty of people playing so, while definitely something didn't go as planned overall, it's not affecting everyone the same.

Hello, I have disabled all my mods but when clicking Play the launcher dissapears for a second and comes back, any other fixes for this? Also thank you for the update, stuff ive seen in this thread sounds awesome, cant wait to get back into it!

My game client refuses to update to 1.3.6/1.3.7 or w/e the newest version is. I'm still on 1.3.2, but also have the 25 quest limit. idk what's going on lol.

I've changed DNS, flushed DNS, 5 different VPNs. Full fresh install in a new file location, fully turned off windows defender AND my firewall at the same time, still the same error. FIX THIS SHIT. IT'S ON YOUR END.

So I ran into issues running this on linux, here's what worked for me:
Go to wine prefix, C:\users\<name>\AppData\Roaming\octo-launcher\torrent-root
Copy the torrent file into qbittorrent or similar client, download the new files and overwrite into your existing install. Once the files were updated, I removed patches 6, 7, 8 and 9 from Data folder. Then it started without issue

For some reason, this appears to be failing for me as there is no update torrent in the directory:

I updated to a later version of GE-Proton (Using 'LATEST' variant, which is 11-5, iirc). ENOTSUP error went away.

Yes, same here - (Error: aria2c exited with code 15) is all I get with launcher. I deleted whole game folder and re-downloaded entire client and still have same problem.

THIS ISSUE CAN OCCUR IF YOU HAVE ENABLED COMPATIBILITY MODE ON THE WOW EXECUTABLE.

Obligatory patch notes for the client changes:

Upgraded the wow.exe binary to support an expanded quest log of 25 with some clever techniques. They said it couldn't be done!

To make room for more custom content patches and to make sure we don't interfere with community MPQ's we have repacked the client by consolidating Patches 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 into patches 1, 2, and 4. This makes room for our custom Octowow content (previously Patch-A) in Patch-5 with much more space for future patches. We also reduced the size of the client while doing the repacking by deleting changes in old Patches that are overwritten by new Patches.

Localization in the launcher now works for some people who were having difficulties.

The BG levitation crash fix is now included in the wow.exe so some people can't not receive it

The launcher now uses bittorent for its download and seeding is turned on by default. Go to your settings to disable if you hate Ozzy.
