Thorn Gorge Is Dead

Yesterday, we had Thorn Gorge bonus day on N'Zoth. Not a single game happened. I haven't played this BG yet on Octo. I asked other people who play BGs regularly and they haven't played it either. It seems Thorn Gorge is dead battleground despite huge population on PvE realm. It's strange because other battlegrounds are played often, even AV that requires crazy amount of people queued (30) to start.



Turtle released Thorn Gorge (and PvP content in general) in poor and bugged state in patch 1.18.1, it should be fixed by Octo team. Also, honor per hour was very low compared to AB/WSG which is shame because TG is in good and playable state. If any devs read this, here is all that needs to be done to revive this battleground:

• Add Thorn Gorge Mark of Honor item awarded at the end of the game.

• Add quest to accept 3x Thorn Gorge Mark of Honor.

• Edit quests https://octowow.st/db/?quest=8367 to include this new mark, increase Honor reward by 33%.

• (I'm not sure if reputation for that BG exists, if not it SHOULD) Add reputation faction specific to Thorn Gorge.

• (Possibly in future)Add reputation rewards to Thorn Gorge factions.

• Increase 2x Honor gained in that battleground TEMPORARILY. I think this is neccessary because majority of players don't read forum and they still might think Thorn Gorge is not in the game (or the game crashes when they queue). Word of mouth needs to work.

• Decrease number of players needed to start TG match to 5 vs 5. (I'm not sure how it is now but maybe here lays the problem?)

they need to change current bgs first. i think the only nice thing we got in pvp so far is the windhorn Bg the EOS style bg but also with no faction no rewards nothing.

It might be good idea to announce as sysmsg which BG is "daily" for all to know.

I do agree that Thorn Gorge honor gain was underwhelming (have not played it yet on OctoWoW, but on TurtleWoW it was). And a reputation system would be interesting for sure. I am supporting the general aim of this post.

However, there are players like me who just play for fun. I don't need to minmax rep or honor gain, I just want to compete.

So I repeat my request, which is somewhat connected to the ideas shared by you, Zvyrhol:

Please make it possible to queue for all BGs (including arena) at once (not only 3).

Because it would also help opening TG bgs in the first place, even if there is nothing more than playing the game to be gained from it. And later with arena, so with another 'bg' to queue, players just wanting to play any bg shouldn't get punished for not queuing the optimal bg combination.

I hope me adding this suggestion here is fine for you Zvyrhol, I do like the idea of marks and maybe a few reputation items from Thorn Gorge.

I agree with removing 3 BG slots limit. I think I even suggested that on Turtle in the past. For some reason, it was never implemented, maybe the server is implicitly coded for 3 slots or possibly it's related with the client, I don't know.
Also, I don't think that Octo devs read whole threads thoroughly, especially the replies. You should write it as a separate suggestion on this forum to make sure they see this idea, hopefully they add it to the game.
