Just trying to do my part and report my issue. After the update I updated everything and did a fresh install. Made sure I had the newest version of addons like pfui. I installed the epoch water, sounds, maps, load screen, feral forms. Current issue is my load times are really bad and the game freezes when loading for a bit before I can actually move. I have not had any crashes yet. My fps was normally at my cap set 240 for my monitor and now is around 80. My cpu is a 9800x3d with a 4090. Everything is liquid cooled and not issues on that end.

Ya we have fixed a million Twow bugs. We also transitioned to a bittorent only launcher which is difficult to get software working on 40k+ machines. We also had to repack the client because there was no room left to make MPQ patches without interfering with client mods.

you could always just download the torrent that works perfectly if the WIP launcher is giving you trouble. Twow didnt have a launcher for 5+years.

Downloading the torrent was how I got around the "ENOTSUP: operation not supported on socket, symlink" error. I'm running this in Linux through wine/umu so apparently copying windows symlink files is not supported. Unfortunately before hitting this error, the launcher also deletes a bunch of files in preparation for the consolidation. For Wine you'd just use a normal Linux linked directory and Wine will use it as if it's a symlink.

I always see a lot of TWoW dev mockery here from the staff, "We fixed all the bugs that TWoW could never!"... I don't recall TWOW bricking people's clients or stealing other people's work.
Its like every time the server is starting to see some growth you shoot yourselves in the foot. Maybe it's 5D chutes and ladders. Pigs get fat hogs get slaughtered.

you don't recall that? sorry do you have amnesia? either your memory is fading or you haven't played twow for more than the last 2 or so months. apart from that (maybe additionally) you're incabale of using google properly.

Even my client is severely broken. I'm getting a lot of stuttering, particularly near water or under weather conditions like rain. My FPS halved after the update. The game is unplayable, even with the patching mods turned on.

I know u put a lot of effort on this project, but can you please add the chance to download older versions of the zip package? At least people with lots of error (i.e. myself) can continue to enjoy the game while you have all the time needed to perfect and patch the last release. Is it possible?

Why do you install every Mods forcefully with today´s updates? It installs vanillafixes, nampower, superwowhook and what not AGAINST MY WILL... Like what the fuck. It practically bricked my game - I was playing perfectly fine with stable 180 FPS without ANY Mod whatsoever. After forcefully installing that against my will with todays updates you bricked my game to 60-90 FPS at best. I have a backup folder of the whole directory and when I start the old version I still have my 180FPS. You basically lost me as a player here and I will make sure that when my RL Friends stop playing on Ascension that they don´t come here to a server where such shady practices are at play.
