Hello everyone!
At some point I spontaneously made a simple chat parser for finding specific raids by keywords. It started as a small thing made quickly for myself, but after using it for a while I realized how convenient it was, so I polished it up a bit and decided to share it.
LFMTracker is a small addon for Octo WoW 1.12 that watches the World channel, finds LFM messages, and shows them in a compact filterable window.
The main idea is simple: instead of constantly reading the whole World chat and trying not to miss a raid group, you can keep the useful LFM messages in one small list, filter them by raid, and quickly whisper the player.
What It Does
- Tracks LFM messages from the World channel
- Detects messages case-insensitively and handles numbers or common text variants
- Shows found messages in a compact list with player name, message, and time
- Lets you select and filter several raids at once
- Keeps messages in memory when you change filters, so matching messages appear again immediately
- Plays an alert sound when the window is hidden
- Adds a movable launcher icon for quick access
- Lets you click a message to prepare a whisper to the player
- Shows the full message in a tooltip when you hover over a row
- Lets you edit your own whisper template
- You do not have to stare at World chat all the time
- Raid messages are easier to scan in one clean window
- Filters help you focus only on the raids you care about
- Compact mode keeps the addon out of the way
- Hidden-window alerts help you notice new groups without keeping the window open
- One click prepares a whisper, which saves time when joining a group
