Defender is a joke, like all AVs are. The strongest, BEST, AV is you not being a mouth breather and downloading realwowhack.exe and running it as admin so it can steal your AIM password. You don't have to turn off your AV or Defender for any decent malware to take whatever it wants. More potent viral payloads just disguise themselves or infect the AV directly to make them seem safe.Uggerbugger wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2026 9:16 pmWindows defender is great, free and on par with other anti virus solutions, hence what you are saying is utter bull. The fact is that playing on private servers is a high risk, high reward thing to do. Launcher or mod makers could add actual trojans tomorrow and you would be none the wiser, because you have simply accepted the risk and turned off your defences. And to be frank, if you do this on the machine you put in your bank details or bitcoin, you should probably rethink that.Rtas wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2026 8:37 pmIts not trojans, its just false positives. the fact WINDOWS DEFENDER of all things is flagging them tells you it's likely safe. If it wasn't you'd never hear a peep from your AV, let alone Windows Defender.Hfm1 wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2026 7:13 pm yo sadly its unplayable from my region. After latest update i lost my raid frames and ended with unplayable ping. 2500ms and more making looting casting spells and everything else a pain.
This project needs to get this shit out the way the old client is such a big hurdle to overcome the install proccess is full of "false" troyans and whatnot and the only server with a healthy pop has terrible performance. Thats not how u attcract new players or keep them interested.
Windows just hates unsigned drivers and DLLs. its a retard proofing system designed to protect Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Ned from installing REELMOONAYLINK.COM.EXE
That being said, I see a lot of telecom users talking about bad latency, and for some weird reason they think it's the server that's the problem. I find it more likely that you are being throttled by your ISP, hence why using VPN magically makes the server respond faster. Or why I and many others are not experiencing the same problem.
